Can Cherry make a 4th straight trip to the state tournament? They have the talent to certainly do so. Sub Section 2 in 7A won't be a picnic though.

Summer Summary

Cherry lost Isaac Asuma, and that's a big deal. But….. the bring back everything else. With a roster that includes [player_tooltip player_id='1601068' first='Noah' last='Asuma'], [player_tooltip player_id='2126128' first='Isaiah' last='Asuma'], [player_tooltip player_id='1579910' first='Noah' last='Sundquist'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1579911' first='Carson' last='Brown'], Cherry still has the deepest and most talented starting five in Class A. And yes I think they will in the state title again.

The rest of Sub Section 2 is ready to give Cherry a challenge. Mt. Iron Buhl met Cherry in the section final last year but didn't have enough firepower to beat the champs. The Rangers have four starter back including 24 point per game scorer TJ Duchamp. And Deer River will be right there again too with [player_tooltip player_id='1582113' first='Cale' last='Jackson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2103407' first='Caiden' last='Schjenken']. North Woods, Littlefork-Big Falls and Chisholm will also be solid teams too meaning the vast majority of the good teams will be in sub section two.

The Sub Section 1 teams were in a rough spot last year and it might be even tougher this year. Seven of the nine teams had losing records last year and Carlton/Wrenshall was a good team but it was all seniors that got them to 21-8. Now they are starting fresh along with several others.

Cromwell-Wright has the most experience back and they were the other team with a winning record. Hill City, Northland and Cook County were all three to six games under .500 last year but they should be better as they return a good part of their line-up.
