Ezra projects as a shooting guard, so ideally he will bulk up in the coming years. Only a first-semester freshman, Nieves scored relatively easily against older guards. Handle is already average for a varsity guard. Contact does not appear to vex him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2389409' first='Sebastian' last='Jenious'] / MASE / 2025

9/28/24: Very good elevation on his mid-range and pull-ups. Jenious is athletic enough to consider a college prospect. Quick reaction time. He hit his three-point attempts in the 3-on-3 session. Speedy. Needs to be "more ready" to catch and shoot when he is off of the ball. Hands up, ready to catch the pass and release. That will enable him to open the shooting window earlier. Runs the floor well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2610085' first='Tristin' last='Billings'] / Cascade / 2026

9/28/24: There is some wiggle there. In the 3-on-3 Tristin was quick enough to get by his man, but most of his success came after crafty handles. Billings can play a little out of control, but his basketball mind is so clever and original that he tries moves that the defender does not expect. Further, the appearance of out of control could just be him testing out his boundaries and a part of the creative process. Pretty steady catch-and-shooting. Very, very thin. Needs to get bigger and stronger in the upper body long-term to reach his full potential. Legit shooting range to 23'.

[player_tooltip player_id='1259393' first='Jayden' last='Jones'] / Goodpasture / 2025

9/28/2024: Unequivocally the best player in the gym. Jayden was a known commodity upon entrance and exited as a Mr. Basketball candidate. By far the best player in the building. Insane athleticism. Threw a few beautiful outlet passes. Elite bounce. At the high school level he is virtually impossible to jump with. College will be a place where he meets like-bodied guys and finally sees similar athletes. Jones began his career with Goodpasture High School as a post-up guy. He earned a State Championship young. In fact, he played very well and scored 9p with 13r in a 2022 Division II Class A State Semifinal Game. He was again a State Champion in 2023, scoring 19 points with 9 rebounds in the final.

[player_tooltip player_id='2237601' first='Micah' last='Shaw'] / Stewarts Creek / 2025

9/28/24: Micah played well, as usual. Shaw is the consummate teammate. He makes everyone around him better. Further, he is the kind of guy that lights up the room. The weakness is "ability to break down a quick defender." Shaw is one of the better shooters in middle Tennessee. Still, he is probably a combo more than a true point guard. At least in the classical sense of what point guard means.

[player_tooltip player_id='2609280' first='Linkoln' last='Schwass'] / Kirkwood / 2026

9/28/24: An epiphany. Truly. Linkoln exploded off two feet, routinely dunking with two hands in the halfcourt setting. When we moved to 5 vs. 5, he was equally adept at slashing and scoring. He was at or near the top tier athletically on the day. Schwass displayed the right mindset too. A bucket or two does not equal domination. After he made an exciting "splash" play, Schwass kept looking for opportunities to get back to the rim. He 'dropped a Dame' late in the afternoon, pulling up from 22' in transition mere moments after he and his teammate hit three-pointers. When he is hitting triples, Schwass is a real problem.
