PH Texas Sophomore Showcase Camp Team 8 Standouts

One of the best teams out there during the camp, team 8 was loaded with talent. Many players on the team had an elite or good skillset. They showed they had the handle, IQ, and finishing ability too potentially be special players.    One of the more advanced players at the showcase, Trey showed his ability to be a versatile player on the court. Had a tight and good handle and got in the lane with ease. His speed with the ball impressed and also his strength with his ability to take contact while driving in the lane. Scored the ball in multiple ways showing his shooting, finishing, and mid-range ability. His defense stood out as he got many steals and deflections. Had fast feet and good balance on defense which led to him giving ball handlers trouble.     DiAris ability to finish in traffic was very impressive as it didn't matter how many defenders were in the paint he still found a way to score. Had a good touch around the rim and was crafty making some difficult layups. He's a good ball handler and didn't waste dribbles as he was always going forward to the basket to open up the offense. Was a good defender and always ran in transition for easy baskets after he or a teammate got a steal.     One of the more patient and controlled players at the showcase, Titus never let defenders speed his game up. Played at his own pace and he had the ability to speed up to blow by a defender and score. Made the right plays and didn't have many turnovers. Has a good jumper and he showed this by knocking down threes and tough mid-range shots. Also was tough to defend one one-on-one due to the multiple abilities he had offensively. Was a strong finisher at the rim.     With his strong handle and good IQ, Jet created many issues for the opposing team. Had a strong control of the ball when driving in the paint where he would jump stop and pivot to score or find the open teammate. His passing ability was advanced as he made high level and flashy passes throughout the showcase. Knocked down a lot of shots which included three's, mid ranges and floaters. Had a good pull up game as he made many shots off of his pull up jumper.     Edan is a smart player who showed his ability to move without the basketball. Knew how to move around to spread the floor and set screens that freed up the offense. Was good at being in the right spots to score as he made many cutting layups. Also showed his ability to dribble and bring the ball up the court to set up the offense. That led to many fast breaks being executed well by his ability to dribble past defenders and pass to the right guy or go score.     A scrappy defender, Blake was a reason why this team got so many fast break points with his ability to pressure players and get steals on defense. Had quick and strong hands which helped him get blocks and steals. Good at catching the ball through traffic and going up to score layups. Also had the ability to get hot from three. He was good at moving around the floor to get open to knock down jumpers.
