We had a couple Lakota East standouts on our top shooters profile from Sunday's action and Fletcher becomes the latest standout from the GMC powerhouse. Fletcher did a nice job scoring in the paint efficiently. Showed off his ability to finish with either hand at the rim and off two feet. Fletcher's strong frame also allowed him to grab a handful of offensive rebounds. Solid overall performance from Fletcher on Sunday.

One of the better athletes in the league, Foster is a strong guard who wants to get to the rim. Fast in the open court, Foster can also use his quick change of direction to get past the initial defender. Once Foster gets by the primary defender, he does a nice job of keeping defenders attached to his hip where he can then either shield them when he goes up at the rim or draw help to kick it out.

Foley played with a lot of flair which made him fun to watch attack the rim off the bounce. Had some sweet lefty floaters and layups, Foley used spin moves and euro-steps to create space. Nice touch on the floater shots as well, Foley was in attack mode all morning. Hoping to see Foley play with more pace to his game as fall league progresses, would be the next step in his game to develop.

We mentioned a few Mason Comets in the opening week and Johnson is our latest standout from the town where the fall league is hosted at. Johnson did a nice job of scoring on transition opportunities. Able to score at the rim in a variety of ways, Johnson had some acrobatic finishes where he had to twist and turn to avoid a shot blocker. Defensively, Johnson had active hands which helped start a couple fast-break opportunities.

The tallest player I saw all day, Key Jr has some intriguing skills due to his height and length. I was impressed with Key's ability to keep the ball high above his head when he caught the ball to keep it away from shorter defenders. Also attempted some mid-range shots to stretch the defense, Key Jr had some solid touch at the rim. Lots of development needed for Key to become an impact varsity player but he has tools that you can't teach and could turn the corner with the right work ethic and coaching.

Slavens played with a high IQ offensively, moving without the ball and making himself available with cuts. Playing off two feet Slavens was able to decide if he wanted to shoot or pass it out to a teammate. Also able to knock down a wide open shot, Slavens stretched the floor. As a slasher, Slavens liked the scoop layup shot type.
