Basketball activity has slowed a lot since the beginning of school. However, thanks to BallerTv, recapping showcase action has been good during this time. There were a lot of players who were impressive during the August showcases. Players who get missed during the season made an impression during the various Prep Hoops activities. Those are the players we want to highlight. That is what we do! In this Prep Hoops exclusive, we will talk about some of the juniors and seniors who impressed in August.

Broussard did not disappoint during his time in Baton Rouge. He is a true inside/outside threat on the floor. Kane used his athletic ability and IQ to take advantage of the mismatches he had on the floor. He can drive either direction and finish on either side of the rim. Kane is one of the better players in the state and has the makings to be a top five player.

Brown proved to be a smaller point guard who can play off the ball when need be. He is ultra quick changing ends of the floor and negates the height of defenders with his speed. Braylon has a quick first step and gets to the rim in a blur. He can shoot the three as well which makes him a threat from multiple areas on the floor.

Deville proved to be an elite level shooter during The Expo. He is good at running the floor and finding his spot. Parker prepares early for his shot in the half court or in transition. He has a quick release and is automatic when he has a clean look. Deville may be one of the top 5 shooters in the state in my estimation.

The Haughton forward played well during his time at The Expo. He displayed the ability to rebound in traffic and score in the paint. Gladney also showed that he could run the floor and finish in transition. Haughton has not had a ton of recent success in basketball. With the way D'Merrion plays, the Bucs will have a bonafide inside presence in their lineup.

Malone may be a guard but he showed traits that would allow him to play multiple areas on the floor. His ability to battle [player_tooltip player_id='1601451' first='Kobe' last='Butler'] in the post was one of the most impressive things I saw. Malone knows how to fight over and front and push post players off the block. Offensively, he has a good mid-range jumper and spot up ability. His inside/outside play makes him a hidden treasure in Louisiana hoops.

The wing from St. Amant is a live wire on the floor. At the Expo, he showed eye-popping athleticism in transition with a couple of his dunks. Perkins was not just a dunker though. He displayed an ability to protect the rim and change ends of the floor well. Perkins can do multiple things well. His leaping ability and willingness to be active in the paint can open doors for him on the next level.

Spansel is a point guard who may be on the smaller side. However, he displayed the willingness to play hard and battle anyone he played against. Dylan may not be as fast as other guards but he showed he could handle pressure. Whether the pressure came in the full court or half court, he maintained his composure and his handle. Spansel can score as well as facilitate. He is one of the better true lead guards ans proved it at The Expo.

These players may not be the flashy names that we are accustomed to seeing at Marsh Madness or marquee tournaments. However, these are good players that can be difference makers for their high school teams. Hopefully, they will get a chance to make a difference for teams on the next level.
