The first trip of the year to Anderson Court in Morgantown was certainly a fruitful, fun and interesting one. While there I was of course able to see many college prospects and WV High School basketball legends. One of the more interesting connections was the BlueChips Nation squad coached by former Fairmont Senior point guard Ronnie Nuzum and facing a Martinsburg Bulldog fall league squad coached by former Bulldog and WVU Mountaineer Marsalis Basey. I, myself enjoyed and hour of talking hoops with Basey and picking his brain as well as Martinsburg's coach Dave Rodgers on the current Bulldog roster which we'll include in this article. And I can't not mention seeing current Linsly coach and former D1 head coach Dave Wojcik who does a masterful job of transforming prospects into complete players from September to March. But I digress, we're gonna look at some players from Sunday that were impressive and have a real chance to propel themselves to the next level but have yet to have an offer, so lets change that!

[player_tooltip player_id='2241497' first='Keshaun' last='Cheek'] was possibly the most dominating force of the day at the fall league games. Cheek absolutely had his way with defenders on drives as well as shooting it deep. Cheek has a college ready body and college ready game. There's very few that can get to the rim as quick and powerful as he can using his muscled up frame and athleticism. He looks to be a lock for the next level considering his skill level and academics.

[player_tooltip player_id='1966428' first='Anthony' last='Owunna'] is yet another Martinsburg Bulldog who is long, athletic and a high academic achiever. Owunna is raw but crazy athletic and quick with a very long frame who may still be growing. With his academics, length and athleticism he's definitely worth a D3 taking a chance on as he could develop into anything that program needs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2568596' first='Zion' last='Agyeman-Duah'] was a new face for many and got plenty of attention on the court and off. When speaking to coach Basey he spoke extremely high of Zion, as he did all the Bulldog players, but mentioned his 4.7 GPA as well as being a young senior and actually could be a junior (2026). So its possible if Zion has hoops in mind for his future a prep year would be fantastic. Otherwise, like his teammates, his size and academics make him easy to take a chance on.

[player_tooltip player_id='2319940' first='Ruben' last='Salazar'] stuck out like a sore thumb on Sunday. The big guard/small forward was dazzling going coast to coast more than once and even ending one drive with a two hand flush. Salazar has some of the best handles through traffic and contact that i've seen for awhile. Did I mention he's 6'6"? Handles like a high level guard, plays at a basketball factory for former D1 coach, Salazar is destined for the next level. Definitely D2 level player but don't be surprised if he's at a lower level D1 or Ivy League.

[player_tooltip player_id='2319942' first='Uros' last='Petrusic'] is possibly the biggest post player in West Virginia outside of anyone at Huntington Prep. Petrovic is raw but very mobile with good feet and good basketball IQ. Another player in the Linsly program playing for legendary coach Dave Wojcik, Uros is very likely to develop into a good D2 level big given the academic level Linsly grads leave with.

[player_tooltip player_id='2437056' first='Tyce' last='Day'] is the type of player who becomes a fan favorite immediately. Day plays the game with alot of energy and passion and has the basketball IQ to play multiple positions. Day has the propensity to be a great passer as well as long range shooter. But when Tyce adds a little post play spice to what he serves up he'll become a match up problem. A player who's fun to watch and has a high ceiling.

[player_tooltip player_id='2528455' first='Levi' last='Wanless'] is possibly the biggest surprise or maybe the most pleasant. Having only seen Wanless at BlueChips Hoop Summit, I wasn't quite certain of his level of play. I knew he was a coachable and skilled player but had no idea the level of floor presence and leadership he'd bring as well. Wanless made some fearless plays offensively and never looked shaken or uncomfortable. He has a great point guard skill set, natural floor leader and an all too rare mid-range game. I think he could easily play his way onto a D3 roster by next March.

[player_tooltip player_id='1573156' first='Landon' last='Sanders'] is probably one of the most consistent and accurate shooters we've seen in years. I don't know that I've ever seen him have an "off" day or night. Simply a picture of steady and dependable play. At 6'1", great ball handling and being one of the best shooters in WV, Sanders could have a roster spot on most D3 rosters if not some WV based D2's. Stay tuned.

[player_tooltip player_id='2410034' first='Phoenix' last='Sickles'] has been one of my favorite players to watch almost every time i've seen him in person. He's what I think is a natural and true 3 or swing man. He has guard type skills from the perimeter while crafty and strong enough to play in the paint with his back to the basket. Sickles has a quick and high release from three as well as quick enough first step. Like Sanders, he'd make most if not all D3 rosters but I'd almost expect a MEC school to come knocking.
