2028 Watch List: Point Guards (Part 2)

Thomas is small, listed at 5-7, but he's lightning-quick with the ball in his hands, putting constant pressure on opposing teams with his ability to attack the rim off the dribble. He has a strong mid-range game, getting the ball into his shooting pocket quickly off the bounce, and he's a talented passer who sees the floor well.     Seifert has the ball on a string, an excellent ball-handler with great court vision. He has a quick first step and does a nice job subtly using ball fakes and eye movement to temporarily freeze defenders and get into the teeth of the defense. He sees the floor extremely well and may be one of the best passers in the class at this stage.     It's still very early in the development of this class, of course, but Stephens looks like one of the best players and athletes in the group. He has good size already for a guard, 6-0 and with long arms, and he's an explosive athlete who can finish above the rim. He does a nice job utilizing his strength to bully smaller defenders, and he has an explosive burst that bigger defenders can't keep up with. A talented playmaker who sees the floor well, he passes it really well and sees plays that most of the other kids in his class don't. He's a good defender when he's locked in, combining his length, athleticism, and side-to-side movement to make life difficult.     Brown is a quick, athletic guard who thrives in ball screen actions. He can turn the corner and get to the bucket, pull up and shoot, or find the open man on a roll or pop. He has great vision and a really good feel for the game, playing with pace and changing speeds well. He's a good finisher at the rim with either hand and he can create plays off the dribble for his teammates.     Edwards is a really skilled ball-handler who uses his handles to put himself and his teammates in excellent positions on the offensive end. He can attack the rim or get to his spots in the mid-range consistently off the bounce, and he's a good, willing passer with vision. He's a solid on-ball defender with quick feet and active hands.     At this early stage, Gorsh may be one of the best guards in the class. He can play wit or without the ball in his hands, creating plays off the dribble in ball screen action as the primary ball-handler, or knocking down shots routinely off the catch from distance. He has a really good feel and understanding of the game on both ends of the floor and is a strong defender, especially on-ball.     Kooken may just be the best shooter in the class at this point, a pure shooter with a quick release, beautiful form and rotation, and unlimited range. He doesn't force anything and does a nice job moving without the ball in his hands, putting himself in the right spots to rise and fire off the catch. In addition to his shooting, he's also a talented playmaker who sees the floor really well, and he has a great feel and understanding of the game.     Fichter is a really good shooter, probably better at this point off the catch, but strong off the dribble as well. His jumper is his biggest asset at this point, and he does a nice job using it to open up the rest of his game. He is a creative finisher at the bucket, understanding angles and how to put the right spin on the ball to finish at odd angles against bigger players. He has good vision and loves to push the pace.
