The 2027 rankings update was released earlier in the week with over 100 players being in the rankings. The small forward group has 14 players ranked in the update and will be one to track throughout the season. Here are the top 2027 small forwards.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201945' first='Andrew' last='Kretkowski'], 6'8 Rutgers Prep

Kretkowski is the top ranked frontcourt player in the update and is slated to have a big sophomore campaign. The 6'8 wing finishes strong above the rim and can make shots through contact around the basket. Kretkowski uses his size to see over his defender and rises up with confidence on his jumper. He works hard for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Kretkowski picked up three D1 offers this summer and should pick up more offers as the season progresses.

Keiran Quinn, 6'8 Gill St. Bernard's

Quinn is one of the top shooters in the 2027 class and should put it on display this season. The 6'8 forward has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Quinn moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the halfcourt. He is a strong rebounder and holds his ground on the defensive end. Quinn is a sharpshooting forward prospect who should torch the nets from behind the arc this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201968' first='Mekhi' last='Jean-Pierre'], 6'5 Arts

Jean-Pierre had a strong summer and is looking to carry it over into the winter. The 6'5 forward has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. Jean-Pierre can also get to the rim off the bounce and finishes nicely around the basket. He is an underrated rebounder and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Jean-Pierre picked up his first D1 offer this summer and has the potential to pick up more over the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344533' first='Chaz' last='Gray'], 6'4 St. Joseph (Mont.)

Gray has the ability to play either forward spot, making him an intriguing prospect to watch in the class. The 6'4 forward has a good touch around the basket and can finish through contact. Gray knows how to put the ball on the floor and is an underrated passer. He is a force on the boards at both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. Gray is a physical forward prospect whose ability to play both forward spots will help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344529' first='Jariel' last='Garcia'], 6'2 Paterson Eastside

Garcia had a strong debut season for the Ghosts and has the potential to eclipse that in his second season. The 6'2 wing attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the basket and is unafraid of drawing contact. Garcia is more than just a slasher as he can also score in the mid-range and has a nice release on his free throws. He rips down rebounds on both ends of the floor and slides his feet on the defensive end. Garcia had six double-doubles in 2023-24 and should eclipse that number in 2024-25.

Other Prospects to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='2107992' first='Julian' last='Van Hoeck'], 6'6 Hun

[player_tooltip player_id='2433707' first='Bryce' last='Higgins'], 6'3 North Hunterdon

[player_tooltip player_id='2201954' first='Jkhai' last='Singletary'], 6'4 Paterson Charter

Maurice Davis Jr., 6'4 Glassboro

[player_tooltip player_id='2201966' first='Jayden' last='Crocker'], 6'3 Don Bosco Prep
