Here are a few players who impressed me at the #UABEliteCamp…

Tory Smith (5'9/PG/'29/Briarwood Christian)

IG: ToryHoops

X: @ToryHoops

Tory is a skilled PG who participated in both parts of the UAB Elite Camp. He went with the 7th - 9th graders, then turned around and went with the 10th - 12th graders. He was very dominant with the younger group as he was just too skilled for many in the group. There was a gap between the best two players and the rest of the campers. I was impressed with Tory staying and running with the older guys. I have to admit that he handled himself exceptionally well. The pace bothered him at times, but for the most part, he kept up. Moves to the cup that he was getting with ease with the younger group were harder with the older guys. However, he did have moments when he got a step and was able to show his playmaking skills. He is a talent to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194997' first='Keegan' last='Keeton'] (5'9/CG/'28/Jasper HS)

X: @keegankeeton

Keegan only participated in the younger group but was hands down one of the two top players in that group, with the other player being Tory, whom you just read about. He is a 3&D guy, and his game off the bounce continues to improve. I would have liked to see him stay and compete with the older guys, but I spoke with his dad, and he said that there are other elite camps Keegan will be attending, and hopefully, I will be able to see him in those settings.

KJ White (5'10/CG/'26/Gainesville HS)

KJ was the surprise of the camp as he showed a brilliant floor game. He has tremendous burst off the bounce and lives in the paint, where he is a really good decision-maker. He gets his team out in transition and is looking to score early in the offense. His mindset is geared for a team that likes to run and get early attempts. He showed his unselfish play by getting his teammates involved and his scoring ability to score at multiple levels. KJ caught a lot of eyes, and even though UAB may not be in his future, he showed that he could find a spot at the next level.

Caiden Bauldwin (6'5/F/'25/Bradley Central TN)

Caiden was one of the best downhill attacking players at camp. He has positional size and a solid build. He plays on and off the ball and showed his ability to ultimately produce at both. If I had to say one thing that Caiden excelled at, it was his play off the bounce and his ability to get into the paint and make plays. Caiden's skill and creativity off the dribble can guarantee, at the very least, a solid attempt on the offensive end of the floor.

Sawyer Compton (5'11/PG/'25/Opelika HS)

Sawyer is a small, shifty guard who did a good job getting to his spots off the dribble. The problem I saw in Sawyer's game at camp was that he is a tough shot-taker. At 5'10 at a D1 elite camp like UAB, at that size, it is not likely that they are looking for a PG with the kind of shot selection that he showed. As I said, Sawyer did a good job getting to his spots, as he is a difficult cover off the bounce.

King George (6'4/CG/'25/Olive Branch)

King is a combo guard who took advantage of mismatches against many of the smaller guards in camp. Even when he was matched up against opponents of similar size, he did a good job going through the defender's chest, initiating contact, and finishing. He has good positional size and was really tough off the bounce, finishing in the paint and around the rim. There is some intrigue with King, but his effectiveness at camp only came when the ball was in his hands, which has me in a place where I need to see more of his game to see if he can be effective without the ball just as he can with the ball in his hands.
