<p>August 19th-20th Cedric Cobb Sr and I had the 7th annual <strong>Southwest Basketball Camp</strong> at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ. 120 players from a few states came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.</p>

<p>Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 60 competed in an extra All-Star Game. (Top-20, Top-40 and a Non-Senior All-Star Game)</p>

<p>The shot of the camp was by Gory. Tied at 73-all in OT, he hit a three off the dribble with a defender closing out, and called game! He is very long and versatile. He handles it well and has plus court vision for position and can pull-up off the dribble or throw it down on the break. He knows how to hesitate and freeze the defense to get past and dunk it or score it.</p>

<p>One of the most versatile players at the camp. He does not need the ball to score. He does all the little things with assists up the court, steals, blocks, rebounds and will of course score. He will give a ball fake and dunk it, hit the three off the catch and pull-up from mid-range.</p>

<p>Arguably the top sophomore at the camp. He can score with pull up threes or off the catch. He is super fast and shifty to get to the rim and makes players around him better. He will drive and kick it with next level court vision. He is very confident with the ball in his hands and he leads a young DV Thunder team. </p>

<p>A shooting guard who can score it. He can pull-up from the three point line and get to the basket and score with euro moves. He has some speed to utilize in the open court and rebounds well for his position. He should be one of the leading scorers for the Warriors. </p>

<p>A fast and tough real point guard. He has a tight handle and takes care of the rock amidst heavy ball pressure. He is very quick to jet past his defender and he can hit the catch three. He makes plays and will defend with quick feet and hands. </p>

<p>A really good showing in the All-Star game for Wyatt. He showed his touch off from the three point line plus can score inside with hook shots. The lefty is a quick second jumper to get on the glass and finish. He also defends inside very hard despite being a little leaner.</p>

<p><strong>Other Standouts</strong></p>

<p>A scoring point guard who knows how to play. He has a quick burst to get to the basket to score. He is a natural shooter with good range on his jumper and moves without the ball to relocate to get open. He will affect the Tigers outcomes the next three years. </p>

<p>A growing combo guard is very unselfish to a fault. He will defend with toughness and quicker feet plus rebound. He has some quickness to get downhill with his left or right hand and can make shots from the perimeter. </p>

<p>A natural combo guard can score and take care of the ball. He reads the floor smartly and throws the pass. He will score with floaters and perimeter jumpers. He is a deep three point shooter who gets hot quickly. He is one of those players that sees the ball go in, he will go on his own run. </p>
