SD 2025 Rankings: Featured Stock-Risers

Prep Hoops Dakotas is looking at 10 top prospects that had their ranking improve and that raised their stock in the updated South Dakota 2025 rankings.    Terveen climbs up three spots, coming in at #7 overall. He's one of the top shot-makers in the state and can create his own offense as a three level scorer. Range from deep and creates himself midrange buckets off the dribble. He also locks-in defensively, giving effort and energy. He just came off a visit from Northern State University.     LeBrun jumps from #20 up to #8. The big guard/wing has collected offers from NAIA schools Dakota Wesleyan and Valley City State University after a stock-rising offseason. Coaches have to love his size at 6'4” with a strong and big build. He was aggressive going at the hoop, using his size to go over and through contact at the rim.     The more and more I watch Segrist, the more he stands out as a gamer. Segrist had a strong final game in the AA SoDak 16, where he nearly willed his team to a state tournament berth with 27 points, per the announcers. He has nice length as a 6'2” point guard. He can handle the ball and is a major shot-maker. He nails threes and can hit off balance jumpers. Has instinctive hands and long arms on the defensive side of the ball. Does a good job staying in front with lateral movement.     Hoffman is a D2 football commit, but also led JBA Dynasty this offseason. He was their go-to guy as a scorer and playmaking passer. A AA All-State player a year ago, and he'll look to duplicate that. An aggressive offensive weapon as a three-point shooter and pace setter.     Beckman moves up the rankings board because it's becoming more and more clear that he is a top-notch competitor, and it really shows on the defensive side of the ball. He's also skilled offensively and one of the most deadly three-point weapons in the state. His two-way ability makes him a well-rounded prospect that deserves next-level attention.     Parsley showed this offseason with [program_tooltip program_id='2145852' first='SD' last='Identity'] that he can handle point guard and also play off the ball. He's a smooth guard that handles it, takes care of the ball, good decision-maker as a passer, and finds open teammates. Also, a capable jump-shooter from three. Good size as a 6'3” guard.     Costain makes a big move up the board, from #44 to #21. He's another prospect from Sanford's 17U White team that rose their stock. He showed to be an efficient and effective finisher near the hoop, with multiple ways to score the ball.     Johnson's length cannot go unnoticed, being a 6'6” guard/wing. He's been climbing the board with every update because there's not a ton of 6'6” wings in South Dakota that also possess a clear skill set and shooting range.     Luke was with the [program_tooltip program_id='2338386' first='Dakota' last='Niners'] this offseason, where I saw him on a couple occasions. His length and jumping ability stood out on the defensive side, where he showed to be a shot-blocker and alterer. He's one of the most vertically-gifted prospects in the state. A long-striding glider on the court.     Another Castlewood prospect, Keszler's predicted breakout and more prominent role is baked into his #31 ranking. He'll have every opportunity to showcase his playmaking passing and individual offensive skill set.
