June 17th-18th I watched the second ever Section-7 Qualifier. There were 96 teams in 12 pools of 8 teams each.

The 12 winners advanced to the official Section-7 June 21st-23rd versus some of the top teams in the West Coast.

I took in a bunch of full games and half of some of the games. Some of the top teams unfortunately for myself (great for the team) were already clearly blowing out their opponent and the bench five were already playing, so I missed them play.

Here were the standout forwards from the junior class

[player_tooltip player_id='1570934' first='Diego' last='Sarabia'] Queen Creek (Pictured)

A highly skilled power forward can step out and shoot the three and still be physical in the paint. He blocks multiple shots in the paint, rebounds well and can push the break. He is a quick second jumper who can dunk it on the break. He is a tough match-up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1890173' first='Bear' last='Fisher'] Queen Creek

Another skilled power forward for the Bulldogs is Bear. He can hit the catch three and has a physical approach in the paint to post up and score thru contact. He rebounds well and is finding his footing on this team after he transferred in last year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1746197' first='Malakhai' last='Moore-Neal'] Phoenix Christian

A hyper athletic wing forward is a downhill stud into heavy traffic. He will score on put backs and and-1's thru contact. Watch your head on the break and will score with back door dunks. His first step is tough to keep him out of the lane.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249644' first='Zaire' last='Smith'] Trevor Browne

A strong and long power forward is a plus athlete. He get downhill with a tight handle and uses spin moves using his plus athleticism. He will rebound and block shots. He can shoot the three but is best getting to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2396146' first='Ethan' last='Graves'] Palo Verde

A freaky long power forward who is athletic. He runs well from end to end, he will dunk it on the break and scores inside with put backs. He brings size and a lot of length to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1893708' first='Prince' last='Cash'] Carl Hayden

A bigger wing forward with skill. He scores off of mid-range pull-ups, catch threes and inside offensive rebounds put backs. He can play the 2-4 for the Falcons and rebounds well in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339084' first='Samuel' last='Kalikilwa'] West Point

A long defensive wing will defend and score. He is good in the passing lanes and he will rip some pockets and rebounds out of his area. He scores in transition, jumpers and put backs.
