June 17th-18th I watched the second ever Section-7 Qualifier. There were 96 teams in 12 pools of 8 teams each.

The 12 winners advanced to the official Section-7 June 21st-23rd versus some of the top teams in the West Coast.

I took in a bunch of full games and half of some of the games. Some of the top teams unfortunately for myself (great for the team) were already clearly blowing out their opponent and the bench five were already playing, so I missed them play.

Here were the standout power forward and centers from the senior class

[player_tooltip player_id='1950665' first='Hyrum' last='Donaldson'] Cibola (Pictured)

The big man dunks the ball easily and moves well from end to end. He is a strong two-handed rebounder and outlets well. He sets strong picks and can score on put backs, mini hooks and will make his free throws with a nice touch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595011' first='Mateo' last='Sullivan'] Goldwater

A fluid and athletic power forward. He will block shots in and out of his area and rebound. He will score with fall aways in the post, floaters and his mid-range pull-up is his sweet spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1430449' first='James' last='Steward'] Marcos de Niza

A powerful forward has a strong frame, easy athleticism and scores it efficiently in the post. He loves using jump hook shots, which is clearly becoming his weapon of choice. He has plus hands to catch difficult passes throw his way and then finish.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595013' first='Seraphin' last='Iradukunda'] Camelback

A fluid end to end post player. He can score off put backs, rip thrus and score with alley-oops with great timing. He rebounds, runs the floor and blocks shots in and out of his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950903' first='Cody' last='Lorentzen'] Mica Mountain

An undersized strong power forward with high skill level. He has advanced post footwork with some counter moves. He has soft hands and uses it on both ends to rebound or score.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432440' first='Alexis' last='Sainz'] Cholla

The big man in middle has huge mitts with a soft touch. He gobbles all balls in and out of his area and is an enforcer to block shots with his length and size. Once he gets position in the paint, he will score it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339090' first='Trevion' last='Ziaire Turman'] West Point

A versatile forward who can hit the catch three and defends multiple positions on the court. He brings a high energy to defend and his motor always seems to be on. He does many little things for his team and a big piece to their puzzle.

[player_tooltip player_id='1743266' first='Grandin' last='Gustafson'] Queen Creek

A wing forward who can score from inside and out. He has good footwork inside, he can get downhill and score with euros and speed dribbles. He hesitates and freezes the defense to score in the paint. He is a sneaky good passer and will hit a perimeter jumper.
