While injuries may have prevented the rising senior from really showing what he could do at Caldera, he is making up for it this off-season. In front of a number of college coaches watching, the 6-foot-9 big man was impressive with his high school teammates in a win over North Central at the WIBCA June D1 Recruiting Event and is looking to finish off the summer strong.

We watched Jenson operate effectively in the victory, one where he started off the game a little slow but really turned it on in the second half. In fact, the Wolfpack rode his back as they clawed back from a double-digit deficit. Jenson couldn't be stopped near the basket as he posted up strong, often followed up his own misses, and finished plays through contact. There was no question his work getting second and third opportunities was key though and it was something he focused on during the game.

"I was just kind of predicting where the offensive board was going to come off," Jenson said. "I just wanted to hit the boards, it was super simple."

In the end, Jenson finished with 25 points and at least 10 rebounds in a performance that has become more regular from him this summer. It makes up a little for the spring where he suited up for the NW Rotary Rebels on the prestigious EYBL circuit. His court time may not have been heavy but getting the opportunity to play against some of the top players in the country was worth the effort.

"I didn't get to play as much as I wanted to, but it was still a great experience to see what's out there and what I need to do," Jenson said. "I know what I need to focus on and what I want to do to play better."

Like many right now, Jenson is looking for an uptick in his recruitment. He comes from D-I lineage as his father Byron played at UT-San Antonio and Pepperdine from 1988 to 1993, averaging 11.3 points and 5.2 rebounds as senior, and while he's talking to both D-I and D-II schools he's keeping all his options open. "I'm just trying to get on the radar and go to college and get it paid for," Jenson said.

Jenson noted that he'll be suiting up with the Friends of Hoop program in the month of July. He currently ranks as the #9 player in the recently updated PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2025 rankings.
