The 6-foot-8 forward from Enterprise is arguably the highest-recruited player on the court this weekend and he's honored he's getting the chance to participate. The invite came not just from his recruitment but the fact he had a stellar senior season, one that Mitchell is very proud of for his school.

"Our season ended first round of state a lot like it did last year, but I'm really proud of my guys," Mitchell said. "We went through a lot of adversity this season - we lost a few key players early on, but we were able to get them back and then right at the end, we lost our starting point guard. So it was just a lot of battling towards the end of the season, but I'm really proud of how my guys pulled through. We almost made it to state and for our school, that's honestly a big achievement and I couldn't be happier with who I got to play with and how we played towards the end."

Individually, Mitchell was happy with how things went for himself as well. "I'd say I definitely reached like a plateau this season," Mitchell said. "Like I could definitely feel the culmination of my last three years - just all the camps, the AAU, the skill work, like I really felt like my game came together, especially towards the end of the season. I was facing the floor, doing my best to lead the team. I'd say just overall, everything that I've been working on, I saw it all come to fruition when I got to the end of my last season."

A big man who runs the floor well and has the ability to face the basket and hit some shots, it's no surprise that Mitchell has drawn the recruiting attention he has. He provided an update on where things currently are with him. "Right now I have seven offers through just like this area from a bunch of D3s," Mitchell said. "I'm planning on making my decision probably mid-April. Right now my top choices are George Fox and probably Linfield University, and there's a few more that I'm waiting on. There's a D2 in Texas, actually, that I've been talking to, West Texas A&M, but I'm just seeing how that plays out and then depending on how that goes, I'll make my decision."

What are the considering factors for Mitchell? "Besides the Texas one, they're all pretty close, but I do have a lot of family over there," Mitchell said. "I'm just trying to stay close to my family, stay close to what I know, and just try to find a spot where I fit in. Like there's a really good school, but I go there and I feel like I'm just kind of standing out and I don't really feel like I belong there, then I won't go. I'm just really trying to find a place that I can almost recreate how I felt in high school - like being part of a community, part of a family. I'm just really trying to find where I fit in."
