Q&A with ND Attack

With the end of the club season basically here, we are starting to publish our Season Review articles. A few events remain in the club season, but most programs have wrapped up the year.   In this article, Pred Hoops Dakotas (PHD) is bringing you two Q&A sessions on [program_tooltip program_id='2075723' first='ND' last='Attack'] squads. "Our 17U Boys definitely had an up-and-down season this spring/summer. We played well at times but just didn't have the same group of guys in enough tournaments to get any real rhythm and a whole squad consistently."   PHD: Do you have any fun memories to share with us from the season?   "Fun memories for the summer would be when we did have our full squad we were pretty good! I had a much smaller team as a whole than I did last year, we were definitely quick and athletic which is always a fun group to coach."   PHD: How did your team overcome adversity?   "Our team overcame adversity by just continuing to play hard!"   PHD: What are a few things your team improved on?   "Our team improved, by making the extra pass a lot more consistently as the summer went along and they also fed off that success!"   PHD: Who was your top shooter?   "Our top shooter was [player_tooltip player_id='2053544' first='Colton' last='Feller'] from DLB he had a few tournaments where he finished with 100 plus points, he was a handful for the other teams to guard!"   PHD: Who was your best rebounder?   "Our best rebounders were [player_tooltip player_id='1267636' first='Brodie' last='Runck'] from Central Cass and [player_tooltip player_id='1144603' first='Gentry' last='Richter'] from Linton."   PHD: Who was your best defensive player?   "We had 2 very good defenders [player_tooltip player_id='2312608' first='Hunter' last='Wolff'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1381719' first='Dontaye' last='Fetzer'] both from Wilton, they took it personally when their guy would score on them! Would also get on the floor for loose balls and never backed down from guarding bigger players!"   PHD: Any last comments/thoughts on the season? "A season of growth. We had good all-around size returning from the year before, however, other teams caught up with some of our size. This made our players understand the game better and what they are capable of doing when other teams matched up against us or even had more overall size."   PHD: Do you have any fun memories you want to share with us?   "These are such a great group of young athletes. The friendships we have seen them gain over the last couple of years is great."   PHD: How did your team overcome adversity?   "Playing hard and learning. Like I mentioned in the first question we came in this year not having the overall size like we did the previous year."   PHD: What are a few things your team improved on?   "Working as a team. Finding out what another team's weakness might be and taking advantage of that with certain players."   PHD: Who was your top shooter?   "[player_tooltip player_id='2399728' first='Beckett' last='Cranston'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2413973' first='Charlie' last='Glasser'] led the way from the outside with scoring and shooting. They have quick releases and great form."   PHD: Who was your best rebounder?   "[player_tooltip player_id='2400059' first='Zane' last='Anderson'] and his strong inside presence. He led us in scoring, many of these points came from offensive rebounds."   PHD: Who was your best defensive player?   "[player_tooltip player_id='2413975' first='Kyson' last='Zerr'], strong, athletic, could deny and keep his guy in front. Lots of steals on the backside of our press/trap."   PHD: Any last comments/thoughts on the season?   "All have a bright future if they continue to work in the off-season and get stronger."   "[player_tooltip player_id='2505278' first='Kasen' last='Halvorsen'] did a great job of always improving on both sides of the floor. He is long and athletic."   "[player_tooltip player_id='2399817' first='Colt' last='Beaudrie'] continues to work hard and understand the game better than most."   "[player_tooltip player_id='2400051' first='Eli' last='McNeff'] had a lot of success inside and out on both sides of the ball. One if not the hardest worker on the team."   "[player_tooltip player_id='2413972' first='Taven' last='Huso'] continues to get stronger and works hard in the gym. He has a good outside shot."
