Prep Hoops Next National Championship: All Tournament Team 11U

Kids came from far and wide to attend the Prep Hoops Next National Championships. The tournament was held in Kansas City, Missouri over the weekend. These young players really showed out in the "show me state," which made them worthy of being on the All Tournament team.    After watching this little guy perform over the weekend.. I have become a true believer! Domonic proved he's an explosive scorer already at a young age. He was basically unstoppable on the court, often using his dribbling ability to go around defenders and attack the basket. Excellent shooter who nailed contested three pointers and mid range shots on multiple occasions. He is a good passer who found ways drive and kick out passes to teammates for open shots. A really good defender who pressured opposing guards into turnovers. Domonic also had the shot of the weekend. He drove the length of the court and knocked down a buzzer beating shot that gave his team the win. I believe with time and growth, this young guy will be an elite player in the future!     Tiglath is trully a prototypical point guard who looks to make his teammates better. Excellent floor leader skills, often finding open teammates with pin point assists. Plays with a high level of toughness regardless of his small stature. In the game I witnessed over the weekend, he played an excellent floor game, often knocking down threes and running the team offense to perfection. He's a really good ball handler who can get around defenders and penetrate the lane for easy scores. (sometimes through contact) Showed the ability to make plays in transition, by either scoring or dishing it off to teammates. On defense, he has the foot speed to stay with opposing guards and generate turnovers. With continued growth and practice, Tiglath will be a force to be reckoned with at the point guard position.     Juelz played like a man among boys over the weekend. He's really great at rebounding the basketball on both sides of the court. Great offensive rebounding forward who scored a lot of baskets on put backs, often through contact from opposing players. He had numerous three point play opportunities by drawing fouls in the paint. Runs the floor well and scores in transition when the opportunity presents itself. A really athletic defender who blocked shots and hustled for every loose ball on the floor. Juelz really made it tough for opposing players to drive the lane and score. This young man has what every coach loves to have on their team.... Great rebounding, defensive ability and being willing to do whatever it takes to help the team to win.     Kyrie showed the ability of being an excellent scorer in the paint. He used a variety of post moves to score at ease, while occasionally stepping outside and knocking down mid range shots. A really good passer who found open teammates for easy shots at the basket. A nice ball handler who can create his own shot and get to the rim. This young man plays the game like a mixture of a guard/forward and it was awesome to watch! Showed the ability to run the floor and finish in transition. Doesn't mind attacking the glass and grabbing rebounds despite being an undersized big man for his team. Really good defender who had active hands that lead to multiple turnovers by opposing players. Kyrie is a really good all around player who will continue to progress in a positive way on the basket court.     Excellent shooter who made mid range and three point shots with relative ease. Zac has the ability to create off the dribble and get to the basket. He is a really good free throw shooter and has catch and shoot ability that works in any type of offensive set. Good player who does whatever it takes to help his team win games. He gives maximum effort on the defensive end of the floor by playing passing lanes and being a pest to opposing wing players. Zac is the type of player who can knock down a couple of shots and catch fire. I seen it happen! As long as he continues to improve his game... everyone else will see it too.     Tristian is a talented all-around player with a variety of basketball skills. He showed the ability to score anywhere on the basketball court. Uses a smooth jump shot to score on the perimeter and excellent ball handling skills to get to the basket. Plays the game with a high amount of energy and never seems to tire. Tristian was everywhere on the court in the game I watched him play. He made plays that lead to positive outcomes for himself or teammates. Attacking the basket and dishing off passes, running the floor and scoring in transition are just a few of the positive plays he made. He also show the skills of an elite defender, often forcing opposing players into turnovers with good man on man defense. At his age, he already has the intangibles needed to be successful as he continues to progress and grow.     Excellent point guard skills were showcased over the weekend by this little guy! LeRon is a pass first floor general who can score at a high level if he has too. A great passer who always seemed to find open teammates for easy shots at the basket. Elite ball handler who I witnessed dribble the ball through the whole opposing team to get to the basket. Uses tricky dribbling combinations to blow by defenders and make positive plays for others. A major pest on defense for opposing guards, often shooting passing lanes and forcing turnovers with great on ball defense. LeRon was so good at his age group, he was moved up a class to compete with AAU kids who are a year older. After seeing this young man play over the weekend.. I can say, he's having no issues playing with the older kids.     Elijah is a high energy player who has the ability to create for himself or teammates. He is a good shooter from the floor, often making floaters, shots from mid range and three pointers if the opportunity presents itself. He was in constant attack mode when he was on the floor and had no problem running the team as a lead guard. Elijah plays with a high level of peskiness on defense. He is a tough minded guard who really pressures opposing guards into mistakes because of his quick hands. This young man was clearly the leader on the court both emotionally and verbally. I personally loved how this little guy played with strong emotions! He was very fiery, but nothing that seemed to jeopardize the team. What I learned over the weekend about Elijah is... he seemed like the type of player who hates to lose and that's a good mentality to have.     A tough rugged player who plays with aggression on both ends of the court. He plays with physicality in the paint, often crashing boards and scoring tough baskets. William is an excellent scorer in the paint, often scoring through contact and having three point play opportunities from the free throw line. He's a really good rebounding big man with strong hands. Once he grabs it... no one is taking it away. On the defensive side of the floor, William makes life difficult for opposing players on offense. He has the size to take up space and stop lane penetration. He also showed the ability to block or change up the shots of attacking players attempting to score.
