LONG BEACH — The Pangos Premier 80 was once again the precursor to the first July Live Viewing Period in California. 80 prospects from around the country competed at McBride high school in Long Beach. Below are the best passers we saw.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630642' first='Coco' last='Britt'] | 2025 | Crossroads

Brit was one of few guards who looked to make the right play each time down the floor. The 6-footer operated with good vision out of ball screen action, made the right reads on when to hit shooters, a rolling big man or to create a shot for himself. Brit kept the game simple in open court and half court settings and made the simple but effective plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131806' first='Gavin' last='Dean-Moss'] | 2026 | St. John Bosco

Dean-Moss is a super talented combo guard whose feel for creating for himself and teammates really stands out in transition. The 6-foot-2 rising junior has great open court speed, but remains controlled with his eyes up the floor looking for the next play to make. Dean-Moss is an automatic paint touch which sucks in the defense and allows him to hit shooters with timely drive-and-kick passes.

James Sanderson | 2026 | Orangeville Prep (ON)

Sanderson is a smooth handling guard who plays at his own pace in transition and half-court offense. It was easy to tell that he had a high level command of the position when the first ball screen he used resulted in a slick pocket pass and bucket for the roller. Sanderson embodies a "true" point guard style in that he's consistently looking to make plays for others.

[player_tooltip player_id='1896220' first='Joshua' last='Garland'] | 2025 | Leuzinger

Garland is the outlier on this list in that he's not a traditional point guard when it comes to position but it doesn't take anything away from his passing. The 6-foot-4 rising senior is positionless with his ability to play on or off the ball, on the perimeter or in the paint, as a ball screener or a ball screen user. Garland's vision is some of the best in SoCal as he sees plays develop a step ahead of the defense and delivers on-time and on-target passes in a variety of ways.

Markel Baker | 2025 | Trinity International (NV)

Baker was one of the first players who popped on the court for me. His combination of speed and burst, coupled with his elite vision, made him the ideal playmaking presence in this type of event. Baker got into the lane whenever he wanted and had great anticipation of where the help was coming from which allowed him to make the right pass each time down the court.
