As we end the month of July I took a look back at the top dunkers from Illinois. Here were the better dunkers from Illinois at the events I attended.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105360' first='Lincoln' last='Williams'] Kankakee 2026

Long athletic wing player who gets out in transition and makes huge momentum plays off his dunks. Williams uses his length to play passing lanes and those steals normally turn into highlight packages. He has high major athleticism and is making a push for the #1 spot of the 2026 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2326966' first='Moses' last='Wilson'] Waubonsie Valley 2025

Wilson is a long and lanky wing who has incredible bounce. He had one of the better dunks at the UA Finals. Moses can jump and attack from many sides but what you don't want to do is jump with him. Wilson is starting to earn Division 2 and low D1 interest.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125608' first='Dawson' last='Charles'] St. Viator 2027

A powerful two-foot jumper who had a couple of dunks both weekends in Chicago. Dawson is a forward who plays on the perimeter but is dangerous on fastbreaks when given space.

[player_tooltip player_id='2391672' first='Jeffrey' last='Hassan'] Kaneland 2027

Hassan is a big guy who gets off the ground quickly. At 6'8 he has close to a seven-foot wing span and had some emphatic two-handed dunks from right underneath the rim. Jeffrey is a talent with tremendous upside to his offensive game. His momentum-changing dunks are just the start of his growth.

[player_tooltip player_id='2217980' first='Phoenix' last='Childs'] Phillips 2025

Childs is a physical guard who had made some tough plays during The Last Dance weekend. He was aggressive getting downhill finishing with dunks as defenses moved away for fear of being run over. Phoenix has improved his play as of late and the ability to finish at the rim with contact will always be an addition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2321459' first='Tristian' last='Saunders'] Joliet West 2025

Tristian caught my eye immediately with two athletic dunks on back-to-back possessions. He's a microwave scoring guard who likes to get out and run on fastbreaks. Saunders is a powerful two-foot jumper who can catch lobs or dunks off strides in the lane. At Joliet West look for a breakout senior season from him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105169' first='Arden' last='Eaves'] Thornwood 2025

Arden is a smooth operator with the rock in his hands as he has good size and length for his position. What he surprises most with is how effortlessly he gets to the rim and before you know he slams it over your head. Eaves had a couple of plays where he finished with dunks and shocked the opposing teams. Will be a Division 1 steal for low-major schools.

[player_tooltip player_id='1845363' first='Rajan' last='Roberts'] Kenwood 2026

Roberts is known more for his scoring ability off the bounce, but Rajan had two surprising rim grazers off steals. He's already a quality scorer and if he's starting to get vertical more he may become a high-major recruit.
