The 2027 class might have only played varsity season, but that hasn't stopped them from making an impact on the hardwood. The wing group is loaded with potential and will be one to watch throughout the season. Here are the 2027 small forwards to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201945' first='Andrew' last='Kretkowski'], 6'7 Rutgers Prep

Kretkowski is the top wing in the class and is one to watch throughout the 2024-25 season. The 6'7 forward elevates for dunks and is unafraid of drawing contact around the basket. Kretkowski rises up with confidence on his jumper and knocks down open jumpers from behind the arc. He works hard for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Kretkowski picked up his first D1 offer from Pepperdine in June and should pick up more if he continues to play at a high level.

Keiran Quinn, 6'8 Gill St. Bernard's

Quinn is one of the top shooters in the class and should put it on display this season. The 6'8 forward has a clean release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Quinn moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He is a solid rebounder and holds his ground on the defensive end. Quinn is a sharpshooting forward prospect whose ability to stretch the floor will help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344533' first='Chaz' last='Gray'], 6'4 St. Joseph (Mont.)

Gray has the potential to play the four as well, making him an intriguing prospect to watch in the class. The 6'4 forward knows how to get position down low and finishes nicely around the basket. Gray rarely forces shots in the halfcourt and is an underrated passer. He is tough to box out on the offensive glass and gets deflections on the defensive end. Gray is a gritty forward prospect who does what it takes to help his team win games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344529' first='Jariel' last='Garcia'], 6'2 Paterson Eastside

Garcia nearly averaged a double-double in his debut varsity season and has the potential to average one this season. The 6'2 wing has a quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and can finish through contact around the basket. Garcia can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He is a strong rebounder and slides his feet on the defensive end. Garcia's ability to play both on the wing and in the backcourt will help his development throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201968' first='Mekhi' last='Jean-Pierre'], 6'5 Arts

Jean-Pierre has the potential to breakout this season as he should get more touches on the offensive end. The 6'5 wing has a good first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Jean-Pierre uses his size to see over his defender and his range extends out to the three-point line. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated rebounder. Jean-Pierre is a lanky wing prospect whose ability to stretch the floor and finish in the paint will help his game throughout the course of the season.
