Group 2 is one of the most intriguing groups in the NJSIAA with the amount of movement that happens within it every year. Former Arts guard [player_tooltip player_id='1595682' first='Jayden' last='Holman'] transferred to Linden during the summer, but Group 2 still has good guards to watch in the 2026 class. Here are the 2026 Group 2 guard prospects to track.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411663' first='Torrey' last='Brooks'], 5'11 PG Camden

Brooks transferred into Camden from Neumann-Goretti High School and should run the offense for the High in 2024-25. The 5'11 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to get into the lane off the bounce and finishes nicely around the basket. Brooks has a soft touch on his floater and wastes little motion in his release. He finds his open teammates in the halfcourt and plays with good anticipation on the defensive end to get steals. Brooks picked up five D1 offers from his play this spring and summer and should add to that total with a strong junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1985469' first='Gavin' last='Randall'], 6'1 PG Madison

Randall has a had a solid summer and is looking to bring that over into the winter. The 6'1 guard knows how to get to his spot on the floor and rarely forces the issue in the halfcourt. Randall does not mind drawing contact in the paint and finishes well around the basket. He can also score in the mid-range and moves well without the ball in his hands. Randall's ability to control the pace of the game is something that will help his development in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1919206' first='Maji' last='Dixon'], 5'10 PG Newark Central

Dixon is one of the quicker guards in Group 2 and should put it on display this season. The 5'10 guard has a lightning quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finishes in a number of ways around the basket. Dixon can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He is an underrated passer and moves his feet on the defensive end. Dixon is an electric guard prospect whose ability to make plays with the ball in his hands will make him a prospect to watch in 2024-25.

[player_tooltip player_id='2342650' first='Cliff' last='Deguerre'], 6'2 SG Arts

Deguerre has the potential to breakout this season with his ability to stretch the floor. The 6'2 guard has a clean release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Deguerre moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the halfcourt. He has an underrated handle and works hard on the defensive end. Deguerre is a sharpshooting guard prospect whose ability to stretch the floor is something that will help his stock throughout the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2342643' first='Elijah' last='Thenor'], PG Dwight Morrow

Thenor has the ability to play either on or off the ball, making him a prospect to watch in the class. He has a good handle, which he uses to get by his defender and finish around the basket. Thenor rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure and can score in the mid-range. He slides his feet on the defensive end and can push the pace in transition. Thenor's ability to play on and off the ball is something that will help his development over the course of the season.
