Summer Classic Names to Know

June 1-2 PH NorCal was at Diablo Valley College for the Nor Cal High School Summer Classic. There were plenty of prospects who played well in the Summer's first event for high school teams.    He's gained valuable experience on the court running the point guard position this Spring. He's a speedy guard with good handles, he's fast in transition a willing passer, with good moves to get to the basket. He's a good defender. Decision making is key for him.     He's an experienced player with a good size body to get points in the paint and working around the perimeter. He's a triple threat from the high post, hitting free throw jumpers, using dribbles to finish around the rim in different ways, and passing. He hit 3's in the corner, wings, and up top. He rebounds, helps relieve ball pressure with good passing over the top.     He's playing on balance with good work on both sides. He's driving hard into the paint with strong finishes along the baseline. He's knocking down most of his 3pt shots along the perimeter. He's defending on the perimeter, and working inside to get rebounds.     Amongst his other ways to put points on the board, he's a spot up shooter setting up in the corners, and perimeters ready to stretch the defense knocking down catch and shoot 3's. He has a dribble, length, and good hops to attack the rim, finish with lay-ups, and dunks. He uses his screens, moves the ball, defends inside/out, and runs the court.     He uses his speed and quickness on both sides of the ball. He has lateral movements hounding ball handlers, stabbing at the ball causing disruption at times. He's fast in transition. He's a good ball handler with a burst, and change of direction. He has a mid-range jumper he can hit from different spots.     He's a pesky on ball defender when he's locked in, using leverage, quick hands and muscle to apply on ball full court pressure. At 5'10 he's a surprisingly good rebounder. He's fearless attacking the bigs in the paint.     He's in a versatile role on this team, he doesn't have to score to be a contributor. He's probably one of the better defenders when he's locked in. He's strong with good foot speed to defend multiple positions, including on ball. He handles, passes, runs the court, finishes strong in transition. At 6'2 he'll help rebound.     At 6'6 he's a strong bouncy forward that goes up high for rebounds, and points in the paint, including power dunks whenever the opportunity presents it self, he has a paint jumper. He'll go up high looking to block a shot. He has the strength to defend bigger players in the post. He fast going up court.     He's an experienced player, he's been effective around the basket, attacking from the high post and along the baseline. He's looking a bit stronger boxing for rebounds. He's handling more looking to attack the basket in transition and from the perimeter.
