I took in a bunch of full games and half of some of the games. Some of the top teams unfortunately for myself (great for the team) were already clearly blowing out their opponent and the bench five were already playing, so I missed them play.
Here were the newcomer guards and small forwards I watched
Adrian Stubbs Adrian Stubbs 5'10" | PG Maryvale | 2026 AZ Maryvale (Pictured)
A gifted scoring point guard. He will score on catch threes, post ups, pull-up off the dribble from mid to the three and he is a true needle threader who is physical driver. He collects steals and will drop the dime. He will have a huge year for the Panthers.
Jaiden Thompson Jaiden Thompson 5'10" | PG Mountain Ridge | 2025 AZ Mountain Ridge
A scoring lead guard who carried his team all the way to the finals. He scores on mid-range pull-ups, tough layups in traffic, catch and shoot threes and pull-ups in transition. He will also euro step and his handle is just as good with his left hand as with his right. He is a good passer to thread the needle and truly directs the team.
Jose Fernandez Jose Fernandez 6'3" | SF Cibola | 2025 AZ Cibola
A scoring wing forward is a two-way player. He scores with catch threes, mid-range jumpers, floaters and runners. He dunks it easily and is a fluid defender in space. He is a sneaky good passer and nice sleeper from Yuma.
Marcus Williams Marcus Williams 6'4" | SF Goldwater | 2027 AZ Goldwater
A versatile wing who handles it well and can play multiple positions on or off the ball. He can hit the three, get downhill in traffic and his floater game is his sweet spot. He will drive and kick it and uses his size and length in the passing lanes.
Desmynn Beavers-Smith Desmynn Beavers-Smith 6'0" | SG Trevor Browne | 2025 AZ Trevor Browne
A thick downhill scoring guard is a physical driver. He rebounds well and will push it up the court. He is best getting to the basket with his strength and handle but is a capable perimeter shooter.
Gabe Coronado Gabe Coronado 6'3" | SG Catalina Foothills | 2027 AZ Catalina Foothills
A wing forward is a catch and shoot three point sniper. He has one of the quickest releases in the class. He is a good rebounder in his area with quick hands on defense to collect steals. He was a pleasant surprise from Tucson.
Mason Brown Mason Brown 5'10" | PG Crismon | 2027 AZ Crismon
A scoring point guard who is highly skilled with a high feel for the game. He can score with the floater game and threes off the catch with a super quick release. He is a good passer who finds teammates and he can get hot quickly.
Mehki Storkel Mehki Storkel 5'11" | PG Desert Edge | 2028 AZ Desert Edge
An incoming freshman with pretty good size for position. He can hit the three off the catch and he plays the game with a high IQ. He can play on or off the ball so he can get his shot off and hit the deep ball. The Scorpions have a nice young core and he is one of the main ones.
