With over 2000 athletes in the building from throughout the country, the possibility of entertaining matchups are endless. <p><strong><em>9:15 AM, Court Two, Central vs Lehi (UT)</em></strong>: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1150901' first='John' last='Mattingly'] </strong>has elevated the ceiling of the Central Bobcats in just a couple of weeks of action after he transferred over from Sunnyslope. He led the Bobcats to a big victory over Southern California power Etiwanda and led all scorers with 29 points of an efficient 54% from the field. A victory of Lehi would send the Bobcats into the semifinals of their bracket.</p>

<p><em><strong>9:15 AM, Court Three, San Tan Charter vs Clovis West (CA)</strong></em>: After a strong start to the Summer against in-state competition, the question would be “how good are the Roadrunners against out of state teams?” San Tan Charter answered that question after knocking off Riverside Poly (CA) in a gusty 74-71 win. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1285934' first='Zaire' last='Richardson'] </strong>was crucial in the victory for the Roadrunners as he led the way with 15 points, five rebounds, and three big steals to seal the victory. For the second year in a row, San Tan Charter advanced to the winners bracket.</p>

<p><em><strong>11:45 AM, Court Two, Casteel vs St Ignatius (CA</strong></em><strong><em>)</em></strong>: After a strong spring in the AAU circuit that brought multiple offers <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1369213' first='Amare' last='King']</strong>'s way, the Casteel senior had a strong start to Section 7 on Friday. In a big win over Laramie (LA), the senior wing led all scorers with 24 points that came in a variety of ways. Whether it was catch and shoot in the mid-range or off the dribble or driving downhill and finishing with authority, scoring came easy for King. With a big performance against a stout St. Ignatius team, King could receive another recruiting bump.</p>

<p><strong><em>1 PM, Court Nine, Sandra Day O'Connor vs Redondo Union</em></strong> <em><strong>(CA)</strong></em>: One of the big surprises to most people not from Arizona on day one was the O'Connor Eagles and how strong the duo of <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1217315' first='TayVion' last='Wilson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1333492' first='Michael' last='Simcoe']</strong> were against a tough Corona Centennial team. Simcoe and Wilson combined for 43 of the Eagles 54 total points in a defensive battle. Simcoe held his own in the post against the size of Corona Centennial and Wilson controlled the perimeter. A victory for the Eagles in this matchup could elevate O'Connor into the status of one the championship contenders in the state.</p>
