He's a classic 3 and D guy. Not only is he knockdown from deep, he also has the size to effectively guard all 5 positions. He was a consistent communicator on defense and his overall effort led to numerous steals and deflections. On the offensive end, he displayed the ability to get to the basketball frequently paired with the ability to shoot from the perimeter. The WM Lakers wing is a true three-level inside-out scorer and especially strong finishing at the basket. His size and strength also made him a huge asset defensively. There wasn't one player in the gym that could consistently stay in front of him. His ability to get by people gave Hunter the option to finish at the rim or pass to the open man. Decision making on offense is his greatest strength, and his long arms with good instincts make him an asset on defense. Look for Hunter to have a big June. As a rising senior, Novara already has 3 varsity seasons under his belt. I've watched him evolve from a deadly perimeter shooter to an all-around offensive threat over the past few years. This weekend, he was crucial handling the rock down the stretch in their OT win over a tough Benton Harbor team. In addition to his great attitude and demeanor, the best dunks in the gym on Saturday without a doubt came from Grant VanderZee, who is also a top volleyball player in the state. He is an elite jumper who doesn't mind finishing through or over contact.
