On June 21st, Section 7 kicked off at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. This event has quickly become one of the go-to events nationally for college recruiters. There was next-level talent spread throughout the stadium from court to court. Over 400 teams from 12 states look to showcase their skills in front of over 700 college coaches.

Here are a few of the standouts that I personally viewed:

[player_tooltip player_id='1150901' first='John' last='Mattingly'] Central

John played at his own pace, and no one could change that. He is easily one of the best at getting to whatever spot he wants to whenever he wants to. He attacked when needed and drew the opposing defense in, and hit cutting teammates for easy looks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323290' first='Mason' last='Magee'] Basha

Mase came to play, and it showed. He handled the pressure easily and even navigated through the double teams. He got by his man often and finished very well near the rim. He showed that he could hit the mid-range shot when he couldn't get to the rim. He also had some very nice passes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1759332' first='Dom' last='Rojas'] Central

Rojas played the point guard position just like you would want him to. He always had his eyes looking to hit his teammates. He didn't try to play outside of himself and played very well on the ball defense, hounding the opposing ball handler.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217315' first='TayVion' last='Wilson'] Sandra Day O'Connor

Wilson came up big for the Eagles when they needed him. He started off a little slow, missing shots that he normally makes, but he fought through his shooting woes. He handled the ball well down the stretch and hit some timely threes near the end to help seal the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1366003' first='Jaden' last='Vance'] Bella Vista Prep

Jaden scored well from various spots on the floor despite defenders being draped all over him. His length allowed him to shoot over defenders with ease. The length was also displayed when he had a few monster blocks on the defensive end. He's one of the hotter prospects in the state on the recruiting trail.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150852' first='DeNali' last='McNeal'] Canyon View

McNeal came up big as usual for his squad. He started off slow in the game that I saw but picked it up. He got to the rim and finished well despite getting banged around. His pull-up jump shot is a thing of beauty, and the opposing defense couldn't do anything with it.
