Belleville East Has Plethora of 2025 Guards and Rising Senior Bouncy Big

In the first game of the day we saw host Belleville East record a 42-34 win against MICDS. The Lancers can throw a ton of quality guards at you. [player_tooltip player_id='2452426' first='Jalen' last='Dawson'] is a 2025 prospect that had a nice spring with Illinois Orange. He is a smaller scoring guard with a strong and compact built. Plus athlete that can shoot it from mid-range at a nice clip. Also plays well through contact accelerating to the hoop where he is often fouled. Also liked what we saw from 2025 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2105219' first='Jacori' last='Brown']. Tough and hard nosed slasher that can really get downhill scoring in both transition and the half court. Physical build and uses it as defenders bounce off him. Finishes well in the paint. [player_tooltip player_id='2724403' first='Xavien' last='Moody'] is a well built 2025 guard that hit a three and had an and-1. Bouncy 2025 power forward [player_tooltip player_id='2105171' first='Savion' last='Mitchell'] wasn't dominant, but he did flash with his athleticism and mobility. The 6'6” four man is the highest ceiling player of the group.

Clemens Continues to Shine for MICDS

Liked what we saw out of MICDS 2026 shooting guard Brandon Clemens. Smooth and fluid athlete that can really shoot the basketball. Plus shot maker from three with a free and easy release. Also is slick off the bounce scoring on euro steps and showed well as a defender with his anticipation.

Collinsville Has Mostly New Group That is Emerging

The best team in the metro east last year was Collinsville. They had a core group of three seniors who are all headed to SWIC next season to begin their college careers. It is mostly a new group that was good in their 51-30 win against Jerseyville. Combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2321456' first='Chase' last='Reynolds'] returns as a high level glue guy that can pass it well. Class of 2026 6'10” center [player_tooltip player_id='1295650' first='Solomon' last='Talbott'] was extremely impressive with the growth since last season. Lefty has legit size along with solid footwork and touch around the paint. Rebounded very well in his area and we really liked how he passed it finding cutters and shooters. Strong bodied 2025 wing Stanley Carnahan is a two way player that crashes the glass and brings energy to the table. At the point we liked what we saw from 2026 lead guard [player_tooltip player_id='2540124' first='Tyree' last='Brister']. Smaller point guard that plays with speed and athleticism. Pushes in the open floor, soft touch finishing game, and is active with his hands defensively. Shifty handles allow him to get to the rim for scores or get to the charity stripe.

Brunaugh Puts Name on Map for Jerseyville

In my first look at Jerseyville shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2538938' first='Jaxon' last='Brunaugh'] he proved he could really shoot it pouring in 19 points against Collinsville including five triples. Shoots it well off the catch, movement, and can create his own coming off ball screens. Crisp movements with everything that he does. Nice floater in the lane and the athleticism pops. Projects as a nice small college guard to track over the next 9 months as he will make his debut in our post summer rankings!
