[program_tooltip program_id='2075532' first='Illinois' last='Bears'] 16U Clicks on All Cylinders in 8:00 AM Tilt

We opened up the morning catching the [program_tooltip program_id='2075532' first='Illinois' last='Bears'] 16U squad put on a dominant performance winning 67-37 over [program_tooltip program_id='2075283' first='Arsenal' last='Hoops']. Centralia 2026 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2422531' first='Devin' last='Meier'] has had a breakout spring from the Pure Sweat Camp to multiple PHC events. The shot making two guard has been on fire! He made four triples in this one along with showing scoring off the bounce and underrated passing in a 21 point effort. Carterville combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2323319' first='Colton' last='Hawkins'] is known for his sharp shooting, but in this one it was his slashing and passing that stood out the most recording 11 points. Big man [player_tooltip player_id='2323278' first='Ty' last='Laur'] from Pinckneyville was excellent on the defensive end swatting an array of shots including multiple jumpers. Althoff lead guard [player_tooltip player_id='1977254' first='Luke' last='Smith'] is primed for a monster junior year as he is a very good playmaker setting others up with his advanced feel. Maddox Mitchell is a stretch big from Kentucky and Bray Kirk is a scoring combo that gets buckets also from Kentucky that contributed in the win.

McCluer 2026 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2423610' first='Milan' last='Kyles'] caught our attention for Arsenal. The 5'11” lead guard shot it well hitting pull up twos and multiple threes. Wentzville Liberty 6'5” big man [player_tooltip player_id='2423602' first='Van' last='Kozlowski'] has some intriguing tools with how well he rebounds, finishes through contact, and has shot blocking potential.

Livin The Dream 17U Storms Back with Shot Making to Win in OT

The [program_tooltip program_id='2075532' first='Illinois' last='Bears'] Waters 17U squad controlled this one for well over 2/3 of the game, but Livin The Dream kept hanging around and then Kyle Boggess took over late with a massive run of his own including a three to send it to OT where they ended up winning 70-64. Boggess is a wing with size that was automatic from deep in the second half raining in three after three. Almost single handedly brought his team back with his sharp shooting and scoring in the open floor for 17 points. [player_tooltip player_id='2393784' first='Noah' last='Porter'] is a big man inside that had good touch, ran the floor, and sealed down low. [player_tooltip player_id='2418539' first='Hudson' last='Gaa'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2418536' first='Carter' last='Gaa'] are a pair of guards that shot it well in this one with each hitting several threes in the win.

Vienna 6'1” point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2387585' first='Hunter' last='Webb'] had a big outing for the Bears. He is a quick point guard that wins with his shifty handles and scores through taller defenders at the rim with nifty layups. Notched 20 points. Trenton Wesclin 6'1” 2025 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1548328' first='Chandler' last='Mueller'] continued his strong spring displaying his shot making from distance creating on his own to get open shots along with showing grit off the bounce. Red Bud [player_tooltip player_id='2383983' first='Trent' last='Sternberg'] is a new name that popped on our radar. The 5'11” guard was active defensively, had a nice soft touch finishing game, and flashed the long ball.

[program_tooltip program_id='2077051' first='Team' last='Ramey'] EYCL Turns on Heat vs Gateway UA in Second Half Recording Big Win

This was the pool play game we had circled between Nike EYCL squad [program_tooltip program_id='2077051' first='Team' last='Ramey'] vs Under Armour squad Gateway at the 17U level. Lot of talented prospects in this one and it was close at the half with Ramey up 32-27. Then they exploded in the second half particularly Mt. Zion shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1545145' first='Lyncoln' last='Koester'] who went on a barrage of his own from distance getting the momentum going that would not stop winning 72-47.

Koester was fantastic for [program_tooltip program_id='2077051' first='Team' last='Ramey']. In the first half he scored putting it on the deck with strong takes to the rim with an array of layups. Then the three ball started to fall and he was rolling. Also showed solid passing feel in the win. Big man [player_tooltip player_id='2544891' first='Jack' last='Cubbage'] continues to impress as a floor spacing five that can really knock down shots from all over the floor. Carmi's [player_tooltip player_id='1766507' first='Mitchel' last='Edwards'] had his moments flashing his shot making from two and three along with his athleticism. Power wing Antoine Franklin of Miller Career Academy shot it well again from distance with three triples. Unsigned senior lead guard [player_tooltip player_id='1269598' first='Jayden' last='Banks'] of MICDS is a shifty lead guard that breaks down defenders and can hit threes. Unsigned senior would be a great late addition at small college level.

Gateway got a big first half from their interior duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1419872' first='Brock' last='Camp'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1315419' first='Clayton' last='Parker']. Camp is a physical football prospect that brings excellent footwork and quickness from 10 feet in playing through contract. Can also stretch with his shooting. Parker was a standout all weekend as the 6'8" five man seals on the block tremendously well, rebounds in area, gets to line, and is a plus passer.

Illinois Mavericks 17U Split Doubleheader vs Illinois Orange with Balanced Effort

It was a double header for the Illinois Mavericks and Illinois Orange as they played twice on Sunday. The Orange won the first game, but in the game we caught it was all Illinois Mavericks recording a 68-49 victory. What we loved about this squad was how well they shared the ball and the scoring was across the board. Unsigned senior wing Cayden Nichols is a two guard with good size, strength, and burst to the rim along with being able to knock down shots. Led a balanced attack with 11 points. Marshall's [player_tooltip player_id='2408430' first='Rielly' last='Wallace'] is an unsigned senior point guard that passes with zip and hit a pair of threes. Arcola's [player_tooltip player_id='2408003' first='Braden' last='Phillips'] is a 2025 that finished around the hoop and rim ran for 9 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1598764' first='Noah' last='Taylor'] is a shooting guard in the 2025 class from Dunlap at 6'2” that is so crafty scoring around the basket in transition, on put backs, and sweeping layups. Casey Westfield 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2408594' first='Hayden' last='Parcel'] and Marshall 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2407880' first='Payton' last='McGuire'] also had nice outings in the win.

For Illinois Orange once again it was Belleville East combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2452426' first='Jalen' last='Dawson'] who did most of the damage. High-motor and athletic scoring guard flies in for offensive rebounds getting second chance points and attacks the hoop with burst. Belleville East 2026 post Jacory Brown is an intriguing name to track. Angular post that rebounds very well in his area getting put backs, seals on the block, and scores with toughness inside.
