This past weekend the Prep Hoops Show Me Showdown took place in St. Louis. This is annually one of the best PHC stops for Midwest teams. We dive into a look at the posts from Illinois that made an impression on us.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766507' first='Mitchel' last='Edwards'] (Team Ramey 17U)

Edwards is a face up four from Carmi that had a solid weekend for Team Ramey. What we like about him is his combination of skill and athletic pop. That was on display with the way he played above the rim with several explosive finishes along with his shot making from both two and three. Also displayed some improved ball skills handling it.

Jacory Brown (Illinois Orange 17U)

Brown popped as a 6'6” post that has solid strength that was dominant on the glass. The 2026 post came off the bench for the Illinois Orange and provided toughness inside on the boards recording an array of put backs, rebounding well defensively in his area, sealing for buckets, and scoring junk points around the basket.

Raijon Price ([program_tooltip program_id='2075532' first='Illinois' last='Bears'] Waters 17U)

Price is an undersized post from Herrin that has long arms and an angular frame. Really liked how well he rebounded the ball. Was active on the offensive glass. Bit raw otherwise, but the athleticism plays on the glass and defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2454160' first='Kameron' last='Eutsey'] (Team Ramey 16U)

Eutsey is a 6'6” four man from Belleville West that put his name on our radar in the 2026 class. Super bouncy power forward that can get on the offensive glass for second chance points. Long and wiry frame with quick twitched athleticism that runs the floor with ease. Solid free throw shooting stroke and rebounds well. Showed flashes as a defender. Tools to work with here!

[player_tooltip player_id='2323278' first='Ty' last='Laur'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075532' first='Illinois' last='Bears'] 16U)

Laur is one of the big men that has taken his game to another level over the last few months. The Pinckneyville five man is such a skilled back to the basket player that can score on the low block and really pass the ball. His passing is outstanding for a big man slicing up the defense. Also did a nice job blocking shots over the weekend not only in the paint, but also swatting several jumpers in the mid-range.
