This energy can instantly spark a run for their team and can really separate good players from great players. Here are some players who bring intensity every time they are on the court.
Martin just keeps getting better and better every single time I see him on the court. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and provides so much energy for his team. His athleticism surprises a lot of people as he can EASILY rise above defenders to put them on the wrong side of a poster dunk. His defensive game is elite as he can guard a variety of positions and moves his feet very well. He is physical in the paint and holds his own nicely against top talent. He is a Division 1 talent if you ask me.
Highlights
Here is a player whose game has taken a massive step on the court since the season ended. Usitalo has a chip on his shoulder due to always being overlooked and he uses that as fuel when he’s on the court. He is a vocal leader, guiding teammates and encouraging them through tough moments. Darek has been playing more physical on the court, utilizing his height and strength down in the paint. His jumper has gotten a quicker release, leading to college interest from 4 year school and JUCO’s.
Karsen’s game has improved since the high school season ended as well. He had a fantastic junior year but appears to only be getting better. Denault has been utilizing his 6’4″ frame, being big in the paint and rebounding off the glass very well. His athleticism is something that stands out right away as he can catch a lazy defender and catch backside ally-oop passes if they are placed correctly. He will have an increased role on this Napavine team next year.
Sebastian is a player who I think can do big things on the court and is just now starting to display his elite talent. His energy comes from the defensive side of the ball.He is one of the hardest working players on the court, every time he steps on the court. Arius causes havoc on the defensive end, having deflections, getting loose balls, and always communicating. His offensive game is evolving nicely as he has an elite deep shot and is gaining the confidence to get downhill with either hand.
