ANAHEIM — The Compton Magic club program held it's annual Magic Memorial event at Open Gym Premier in Anaheim. The tournament-style event featured some of the west's top programs and players. Below we take a look at some of the top playmakers we saw.

[player_tooltip player_id='1896226' first='Chris' last='Carrillo'] | Gamepoint 17u

Carrillo impressed with his steady decision-making and ability to control the pace and tempo of the games we saw him play in. The 5-foot-11 rising senior reminds me of former Gamepoint guard and current Brown University player Kimo Ferrari with his open court speed combined with vision, willingness to pass and remain under control.

Jaxon Allensworth | Gamepoint 15u

Allensworth is a small but quick and shifty rising sophomore we excels with his burst of speed in blow-by situations and when getting downhill and to the lane in ball-screen action. Allensworth is an instinctual passer who also has great feel and IQ as a defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1532662' first='JJ' last='Mandaquit'] | Compton Magic 17u

Mandaquit is regarded as one of the top point guards in the nation and it was easy to see why. The 6-foot-1 rising senior is a savvy ball-handler and passer who can diagnose a defense in transition or in half-court offense and seems to always make the right decision. Not only does Mandaquit impact the game with his passing but he's also a crafty driver and finisher who uses his well-built frame to absorb and finish through contact.

Juleeyan Williams | Compton Magic 15u

Williams caught my eye with his advanced feel for the game and point guard position though still being in middle school. The 2028 prospect has great vision in transition, is a willing passer in hit-ahead situations and is a patient decision-maker who values possession and plays the game the right way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630655' first='Mateo' last='Trujillo'] | Los Angeles Elite 17u

Trujillo is a prospect who doesn't lack any confidence in his abilities. The 6-foot-2 combo guard has become known for his ability to fill up the scoring column but, over the last few months, including at this event, the rising senior has shown improvements to his playmaking IQ. Trujillo delivers on-time and on-target passes to shooters and big men and stays poised under defensive pressure.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630660' first='Myles' last='Walker'] | Compton Magic 17u

Walker can be best defined as a winning player on both ends of the floor. The 5-foot-9 point guard is a true floor general type of player who understands what his team needs from him — whether it's an assist, a timely bucket or a big defensive play — and executes those throughout the course of the game. Walker has a fearless approach to the game and continues to improve as a perimeter scorer.

Nick Giarrusso | Open Gym Premier 16u

Giarrusso was one of the break out players of the event for me and will be entering the rankings in our next class update. The 2026 prospect out of Oaks Christian high school plays like a true point guard at 6-feet-4. His combination of size, savvy, fundamental skill-set, vision and unselfishness allow him to get into the lane and find open teammates. Giarrusso is a solid athlete with a sturdy build that allow him to play through bumps and finish at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436287' first='Richie' last='Ramirez'] | Gamepoint 15u

Ramirez is an aggressive attacker of the basket who uses his tight handle, quickness off the bounce and balance when playing low to the ground to get into the lane, draw help defenders and find open teammates. The 2027 guard out of San Marcos high school is persistent at getting paint touches and thrives when space is freed up in ball screen action.

[player_tooltip player_id='2212733' first='Siincere' last='Hudson'] | Dream Vision 15u

Hudson's combination of strength, speed and explosiveness proved to be a trio of overwhelming traits for defenders who tried to keep him out of the lane. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is one of the top 2027 prospects in California and his ability to get into the paint at-will and finish through contact or find an open teammate are a big reason why.
