Much is made of leaping ability, and it matters, but for guards the first-step quickness is more important. How fast can they play laterally and going toward the basket? These are the quickest in Tennessee.

(#61) PG Larry Benson ([program_tooltip program_id='2078772' first='Team' last='Thad'] 16u)

[player_tooltip player_id='2296676' first='Trey' last='Benson'] is going to get a bump during the next pass through the 2026's because he is elite quick. [player_tooltip player_id='1933173' first='Larry' last='Benson III'] runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2078772' first='Team' last='Thad'] 16u and plays with wonderful court awareness. He changes directions like the best of point guards do. The skills set him apart from most shorter point guards. Benson averaged about 19 ppg and 8 apg as a sophomore for Memphis Business Academy.

(#12) PG [player_tooltip player_id='1368094' first='Arnett' last='Hayes'] (Atlanta Celtics 17u)

Wonderful guard. Arnett blew up as a football recruit in the last seven months, but here is hoping he sticks with basketball. The Battle Ground Academy lead guard owns a special kind of quickness. He projects as a Tim Hardaway-type with continued focus on his handle. Hardaway was a rare dribbler and though Arnett can get around almost any high school player, he will need to get even more creative to catch Tim. Hayes is a fun watch and a hard worker.

(#5) PG [player_tooltip player_id='1273550' first='Shane' last='Cherry'] (BMaze 17u)

Nobody is quicker than [player_tooltip player_id='1273550' first='Shane' last='Cherry']. Austin-East is a team of blazing fast players and Shane is the fastest of that bunch. Cherry is playing his third season of 17u.

(#150) PG Ray'Quan Watson ([program_tooltip program_id='2393604' first='Tennessee' last='Impact'] 17u)

When [player_tooltip player_id='1303496' first='Brennen' last='Scott'] was forced to retire from basketball mid-season with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), Ray'Quan took on an even larger ball-handling role. Watson is exceptionally fast with the dribble.
