Mid-May has arrived which means practice time with high school teams has begun in Louisiana. When this time arrives, that usually means that various schools and colleges around the Boot will hold play days and team camps. Parkway is kicking off their "Tuesdays in the Cage" with a host of schools from north and central Louisiana. In this high school preview, we will look at players to watch at Parkway.

[player_tooltip player_id='1347260' first='Chris' last='Shiflett'] - The Evangel guard has been playing on and off the ball his whole career. This summer will begin his time as the primary point guard for the Eagles. Shiflett has the vision and passing ability to make everyone on the floor better. As a senior leader, that will be one of his goals. The Eagles are also transitioning to class 5A so they will need CJ at his best. The story begins today at Parkway.

[player_tooltip player_id='1679403' first='Kevin' last='White'] - The Airline guard moves into his junior season as one of the best players in the area and in his class. White is a point guard who can score at all three levels and is getting better by the day. He is fresh off play on the Puma circuit and should be part of a talented, guard-laden team. Kevin's leadership and scoring will be much needed as the Vikings begin year two under Coach Washington's leadership.

[player_tooltip player_id='1543668' first='Caleb' last='Evans'] - Parkway's lead guard has been running the point for the past two years. He is one of the more steady guards there is and has a highly accurate jumper to go with it. Parkway is another guard-heavy team who should make waves in class 5A. With the wealth of experience Evans has and his shooting ability, Parkway should be very good this summer and next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1561807' first='Marcus' last='Lofton'] - Captain Shreve may have a new coach but should have one of the best point guards in the state leading the way. Lofton was the crunch time, go-to player in Coach Corey Deans offense. He is also a high IQ point guard who has the innate ability to take the right shot and make the right plays. His ability to get the Gators on track this summer, under new leadership, will say a ton about his ability to lead.

[player_tooltip player_id='1680525' first='Brian' last='French'] - Coach Sykes has entrusted French with the lead guard role since he stepped foot on campus. Now, going into his junior season, this summer should be big for Brian. French has a wealth of talent around him. He should be able to get them the ball in various positions to score. His ability to pass and facilitate should give the Lions direction as they build a title contender on Milam Street.

[player_tooltip player_id='1362436' first='Treylan' last='Neal'] - Carroll has been one of the best teams in class 3A. Last season they took a big step during the regular season and Neal was a big part of it. His ability to facilitate and be a shot maker was paramount in their team success. Now, going into his final season, Neal will have to raise his game. Whether it is more assists or more scoring, Neal will have to lead by example. Getting off to a good start at Parkway will help that.

[player_tooltip player_id='1679406' first='Antonio' last='Dixon'] - Dixon has all of the talent and skill to be a top ten player in his class. He has the ability to rebound, run the floor, and score from the perimeter. Dixon has a quick first and second jump that allows him to be a menace on the glass. For a Huntington team that needs some additional scoring, Dixon will need to tap into his full bag of skills. There is no time like the present to work on those things against good competition.

Parkway will host one of these camps weekly. With other teams from near and far playing in south Bossier, this should be a good experience for the players above and others. Play will end Tuesday, May 28th, at 7 PM.
