Cooper Jackson

A man amongst boys in the paint on Friday night, Jackson dominated the interior for his team. I wasn’t able to count how many second chance points Jackson scored, but it was well over a dozen. Finishing almost everything at the rim, Jackson had a 3-4 inch size advantage against whoever guarded him and he took advantage with simple but effective moves in the paint. A prospect who put up huge scoring, rebounding and blocked shots numbers as a high schooler has translated those skills well to the Prep Hoops Circuit.
Playing in one of the most exciting games I’ve seen all weekend, Everingham and OPS NLI went down to the wire with H OPS on Elite. Knocking down some key 3-pointers in the second half, Everingham hit a few shots to take the lead in key moments. It seemed like whenever his team needed a bucket, he came through. On the defensive side of the court, I liked the way Everingham used his hands to strip the ball without fouling. There were a few times he tipped the ball off an opposing ball handlers leg to force a turnover.
Highlights
Murphy is a slashing wing guard who had a big game this morning to lead his team to a comfortable win. A quick twitch athlete, Murphy was best in the open floor where he could extend his stride and use his vertical pop on either end of the court to get above the rim for blocks and layups. As a slasher, Murphy got to his spots and his some pull-up jumpers from the 8-12 foot range. Combine that with a few time and space 3-pointers against the zone and he had himself a productive morning.
Team Teague got a solid win with production from a handful of players. I wanted to spotlight Sheppard who played with a lot of confidence from the wing. Knocking down open shots when they came to him, making himself available off the ball and rebounding, Sheppard played his role effectively. I also enjoyed seeing his teammates make the extra pass to Sheppard, his team got a ton of assists.
Indiana Game UA Rise was LOCKED IN defensively in a win over Kyle Guy Elite . This team was rotating, funneling drivers to their length in the paint and contesting every shot. Wellman was solid defensively but this was a true team effort. I could’ve picked a few guys for standout offensive play on the team, decided on Wellman because of his efficiency from beyond the arc and some nice assists in the second half. Making shots and knowing how to play will get you a long way in basketball and Wellman showed both of those skills this afternoon.
