A very physical guard from Michigan City High School, Murphy came down and displayed his skills in front of dozens of college coaches at Sunday’s Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 Workout. He is a real force off of the dribble when he gets into the paint, is capable of scoring it from the perimeter, and projects as a versatile defender at the next level. Murphy is one that will be a great late addition to a college program.

It was a great day for this strong, physical prospect from Michigan City High School. Murphy scored 21 points in the 8:00 a.m. game that we watched on Saturday morning, but Indiana Game National-1 came up short against Team Teague . However, Murphy came back with 16 and 20 points in a pair of wins to wrap up the day.

Murphy is a slashing wing guard who had a big game this morning to lead his team to a comfortable win. A quick twitch athlete, Murphy was best in the open floor where he could extend his stride and use his vertical pop on either end of the court to get above the rim for blocks and layups. As a slasher, Murphy got to his spots and his some pull-up jumpers from the 8-12 foot range. Combine that with a few time and space 3-pointers against the zone and he had himself a productive morning.
