However, the immense level of high school talent in NC in this class should be an attractive option to coaches still looking to add a guy who can either come in right away and play, or be ready to develop and then break out. Check out some of the more under the radar names in our rankings that are still legitimate pieces for college level coaches to check out and add to their rosters.
Chambers was an impactful guard in his last two high school seasons at Mooresville, becoming the team’s go to bucket getter and defensive anchor at times down the stretch. He racked up all-district second team honors, a GM4 all-conference selection, and multiple senior all-star game appearances in the Charlotte area. With an offer from Sandhills CC, a PWO opportunity at UNC Pembroke, and lots more interest at the D2 and D3 level, coaches looking for a two-way guard with legitimate size should look no further than Chambers.

Dillon was an electrifying scorer at the small-school HS level this season, going for almost 33 points per game! He’s a herky-jerky lefty that changes speeds well, knocks down shots off the catch or dribble, and has great vision to go with a little bit of flair as he pings the ball around at the point guard spot. As a WNC kid, eyes haven’t been on him in HS, but he’s also been a good floor general for Team Swish on the Hoopseen circuit, where he’s been an impactful unsigned senior so far in this year’s spring AAU session. He’s someone coaches would love to add to their program in the backcourt.

Haynes is a long, rangy prospect that would be a nice pickup for a local school due to his athletic gifts and developing skill with the game. While probably needing a year to develop and continue working on his jumper and attacking with the dribble, his outstanding physical tools, combined with a high motor on both ends of the floor make him someone who could be a contributor sooner than later if he gets in the gym. Would be a nice redshirt or development guy for a D2 or D3 in the area.

Cathcart is a knockdown shooter who has multiple offers already, but could be a great backcourt addition with his size and skill. He knocked down 70 threes over the course of the HS season at a 50% clip, putting himself up with some of the top shooters across the entire state regardless of class. Along with being an all-conference pick and a Triad All-Star game selection, Cathcart currently has offers from Montreat and Johnson and Wales. Should be a guy that can come in and fight for minutes from Day 1.
Bradley is in rare air at Neuse Charter, as he was the first basketball all-district selection from the school in 8 years. Averaging 25.6 PPG as a dominant, high usage guard, Bradley’s shiftiness and solid frame helped him tear defenses apart every single night as a well-rounded scorer. I think his best fit is a JuCo where he can go produce like he did at the high school level with high usage, while seeing an increase in competition, but coaches at many levels shouldn’t rule him out as a sparkplug kind of scorer off the bench his first year.
Bailey continues to be a guy that defies logic as to why he hasn’t found a high level home yet, as the combo forward is so skilled and continues to produce at a high level wherever and whoever he plays. He does a lot of everything out on the floor, whether it’s scoring from multiple areas, rebounding at a high clip, or providing solid multi-positional defense. He led his NLPB team in scoring this weekend and made winning plays for them in the clutch time in multiple games as well. He’s a legitimate impact player at the D2 or D3 level, and some school will get an absolute steal from his commitment.
