CBG and ETC came together in Richmond this past weekend to put on their Grassroots Tip-Off event, a one day showcase featuring some of the best teams in the DMV and throughout the state of VA.

Here's a look at part 3 of some of the 17U standouts from the event.

Aaron Morgan | 6'3” F | The Ville

Morgan was a standout for The Ville who had a couple of good wins, as the available senior showed good versatility and impacted the game in a number of ways for his group. The 6'3” forward played almost every position as he was one of the tallest but also one of the most skilled players on his team. He handled the ball quite a bit making good passes, he rebounded on both ends of the floor and he made shots from all over too.

Javin Williams | 6'5” PF | Twin Hoops

Williams brought a lot of toughness for his team in both of his games, particularly in the first game where they only had 5 players for most of it due to some car trouble from a large group. The 6'5” forward played with a great motor and showed his willingness to do the dirty work. He rebounded well in traffic, he cleared out space and finished around the rim and he showed good touch out to the midrange too.

Tay Stanley | 5'11” CG | Twin Hoops (2026)

Stanley is a dynamic guard who played up for Twin Hoops, showing his ability to take over games both as a scorer and as a playmaker as well. While he isn't the biggest guy on the floor, he has a lot of the qualities you would like in a small guard. He's got a quick first step and is shifty off the bounce, he gets under ball handlers and makes them uncomfortable and he can really knock it down from deep with takeover ability as a scorer.

Eli Morendetti | 6'1” PG | CBG Elite

Morendetti is coming off a great senior year at Carmel and is one of the best and most underrated available seniors in the state. The Italian native has a smoothness to his game that many could only wish they have, and he's the type of guard who's always under control and makes the right play consistently. He lives in the paint with his shifty handle and ability to change speeds off the bounce, he's a crafty finisher around the rim and he's an unselfish playmaker who sees the floor well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242380' first='Ruey' last='Ruey'] | 6'6” WF | CBG Elite (2026)

Ruey showed why he's considered one of the top young talents in VA playing with the CBG Elite team, as he made an impact on both ends of the floor with ease. Defensively he shined with his anticipation to jump passing lanes and create opportunities in transition. Offensively he showed he can play on the ball and create in isolation situations, he finished well around the rim with both hands and he made shots from all three levels as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1618939' first='Dakota' last='Sellers'] | 6'5” WF | CBG Elite

Sellers is another available senior who played with this CBG Elite team, and he showed why he's worth a shot late for a school who needs a high upside player. At 6'5” he was one of the most athletic guys in the building, showing off with some highlight finishes above the rim. He also showed his ability to rebound on both ends, work out of the triple threat and his continued improvement on his ability to make shots from deep.
