Bill Hensley Run N Slam – 8 New Names Emerge

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the weekend, Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground in Fort Wayne for the annual Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam. This event is always one of the best independent tournaments of the spring and summer bringing out a huge number of Division II, Division III, and NAIA coaches. Clawson-Smith knocked down a three-point shot behind a ballscreen and finished in a variety of ways at the end of his drives. The Lafayette Jefferson High School product has some straight line quickness with the ball and is athletic enough to get up and finish around size inside. The 6'7u0022 forward from Carroll (Fort Wayne) High School is a double-double machine this spring showcasing his strength on the block, sound footwork, and some flashes of athleticism. Crane did an excellent job of starting the break with pinpoint outlet passes and was even able to handle it a bit in the open floor to advance the ball. Johnson also flashes some versatility on the defensive end of the floor coming from off the ball to block shots and playing in the passing lanes some. The 6'5u0022 forward has some real offensive versatility flashing some ability to stretch the floor while also using his size to score around the basket. He was relentless on the glass and finished several putbacks off of offensive rebounds. He was impressive on Sunday for INB Elite 2026 and is a high-upside forward to follow as he continues to develop. He projects as a versatile defender that can be great in transition and then serve as a slasher/right-hand driver in the half court. However, the 6'8u0022 Tri-West High School forward really impressed on Sunday morning for Progeny Blue 2025. Ward has an intriguing set of skills at 6'8u0022 with length and some fluid athleticism. He can run the floor, play above the rim out of the dunker's spot, and even stepped outside and knocked in a catch-and-shoot three with a smooth left-handed stroke.
