May 3rd-5th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Valley Vista HS locations. It had nearly 60 teams total and I watched 80% of all the teams to form a good opinion of the field.

I watched 20+ of the 25 17U teams and

Here is my All-Individual 4th Team for 17U:

These are a combination of teams performance combined with how the individual played.

[player_tooltip player_id='1571919' first='Cliff' last='Robinson Jr'] Phhoenix Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2075793' first='Arizona' last='Select'] 2025 Matthews) (Pictured)

A long and fluid forward is an easy athlete to rebound out of his area. He will score on put backs and although he has a leaner frame, he handles contact well to score thru it. He will fall away off of his defender and score it. He is just scratching the surface.

[player_tooltip player_id='1951007' first='Keaton' last='Ort'] Fountain Hills ([program_tooltip program_id='2091922' first='Hunter's' last='Elite'] National)

A scoring guard is a sharp shooter from the three point line. His catch three is money. He has a super quick release and gets it off his hands in a blink of an eye. He will relocate often to free himself up and stays shot ready.

[player_tooltip player_id='2326931' first='Matt' last='Quinlan'] Rancho Solano Prep (Peak Lemon)

A combo guard can score from all levels. He can euro down the lane, hit the catch-3 and can pull-up from mid-range. He is a good passer up the court and plays with a big IQ. He is quick on the ball defensively and has a stronger upper body.

[player_tooltip player_id='1976306' first='Jayden' last='Davis'] Desert Edge ([program_tooltip program_id='2301191' first='Team' last='Rise N Grind'] Black)

A long wing lefty can score multiple ways with catch threes, mid-range J's, offensive rebound put backs and is very elusive and quick to get downhill. He rebounds well and plays the passing lanes with his length.

[player_tooltip player_id='2230799' first='John' last='Meza'] Premier Prep Tucson (Tucson Spartans Black)

A high motored two-way defensive point guard, He loves getting downhill in traffic and he can hit the catch three with space and time. He has big time lateral quickness and toughness and fights you tooth and nail on every possession with his relentless energy.

[player_tooltip player_id='2423161' first='Brenden' last='Goodman'] Paradise Valley (Peak Lemon)

A scoring point guard who is a ball hawk. He can hit the catch three and he is a true pest on the ball defensively. He plays with so much energy and high effort. He makes shots, he is good in the open court to make a play and he will defend. He will be one of the leaders next year for the Trojans.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249644' first='Zaire' last='Smith'] Phoenix Christian (New Mexico D1 2025)

A physical power forward is a high level athlete. He can hit the catch three but is clearly best getting downhill in traffic with his sturdy frame. He is a very good passer and can thread the needle. He will block shots in and out of his area and rebound and takes long strides to get to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217317' first='JT' last='Thomas'] Mountain Pointe ([program_tooltip program_id='2415446' first='Arizona' last='Grind'] Elite)

A physical defensive guard to rebound and lock up his opponents. He is the teams top rebounder for the undersized team. He will defend the length of the court. He scores on downhill drives and seems to bounce off of contact with his strong frame. He is improving his three point shooting from off the catch and he is just a pure glue guy.

[player_tooltip player_id='2039502' first='Moses' last='Bahige'] Inspire Prep (Tucson Spartans Black)

Another tough guard loves getting downhill thru contact. He is a good rebounder for his size and position in and out of his area. He will throw his body in there. He is a rare player who can affect each outcome without scoring too much with his defense. He corralled a huge rebound and put back score in OT.
