May 3rd-5th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Valley Vista HS locations. It had nearly 60 teams total and I watched 80% of all the teams to form a good opinion of the field.

Here are my 15U 2028-29 Standouts that I viewed:

[player_tooltip player_id='2432574' first='Terrance' last='Byrd'] Highland Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2432520' first='Team' last='Takeoff'] 27 Tillman)

A long and athletic wing forward. He is very fluid with a shifty handle for position. He moves well and has a nice frame for an 8th grader. He is a pick and roll finisher and is a strong two-handed rebounder using his big hands. He scores in traffic and has a nice handle to crab dribble and score in the post. He is a very quick second jumper to go back up to score and makes his FT's at a good clip.

[player_tooltip player_id='2433288' first='Carmelo' last='Tillman'] Dysart ([program_tooltip program_id='2432520' first='Team' last='Takeoff'] 27 Tillman)

A talented 7th grader has the ball on a string for him. His IQ is extremely high and has a next level feel for the game. He can pull-up off the dribble from the three point line with range impressively. He has a quick pull-up from mid-range with a floater game.

Caleb Booker PG 5'8 2028 Murrieta Valley/CA (Gamepoint IE 2027) (Pictured)

A real PG has a nice shooting stroke from the three point line. He can rattle them off when left open. He moves the ball and can drive and kick it to a shooter and has quick hands on defense.

Daylen Holt Undecided/NM (New Mexico D1 2027)

A scoring PG scores from all levels. The lefty can fall away in the post, he is sneaky quick to get downhill, he cuts off the ball for easy baskets but his mid-range pull-up is nasty. He is an out of area rebounder, a tough on-ball defender and sees the court to throw the dime.

[player_tooltip player_id='2433111' first='Jacob' last='Muniz'] Boulder Creek ([program_tooltip program_id='2075793' first='Arizona' last='Select'] 2027 Dayson)

A cold blooded launcher with a huge IQ and deep three point range. He is also a real PG as he will thread the needle. He is undersized but he was one of the best passers and shooters combined I viewed. He is very quick in the open court and has a nice hesitation to freeze the defense and will burst by to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='2433298' first='Alex' last='Justice'] Desert Mountain ([program_tooltip program_id='2075793' first='Arizona' last='Select'] Jerrica 2027)

A scoring guard will score on catch threes, he can drive the lane and has some counter moves in the post to score. He is a sneaky good passer and plays with a good IQ for the game.

Samuel Rich Undecided/CO (Morgan Dawgs 2027)

A shooting guard can score with mid-range pull-ups and can hit the catch three with a quick release. He is good in transition and a he is a natural driver with a little wiggle to his handle.
