The teams in the beautiful Shakopee High facility all set out to attain bragging rights for the year. Each game had highlight worthy plays, and players looking to prove their team was worthy of a Championship Title. Although there can only be one champion, there was no shortage of intensity throughout the entire weekend in each division. This huge event had all of the best talent in the state of Minnesota. Below, I highlighted the “Day 1 Standouts” that I was able to watch at the “Twin Cities Takedown”.

Jevon Foote | South Metro

Foote is a skilled wing that pushed the pace for South Metro. His size and wingspan allowed him to guard anyone on the floor. He made quick and wise decisions in transition, finding teammates and lanes to the rim for easy points. His willingness to board on the offensive end really set him apart from others on day 1.

[player_tooltip player_id='2418811' first='Zeb' last='Robinson']| WI City Hoops

Robinson is a hybrid defender who's energy was infectious on day 1. He can guard 1-5 and has a tremendous motor. His second and third efforts led to momentum shifting plays for Wisconsin City Hoops. His size and athleticism made him a threat in the paint each time down.

[player_tooltip player_id='2389954' first='Charlie' last='Glover']| [program_tooltip program_id='2075709' first='MN' last='Swish']

Glove was an energy leader for the Minnesota Swish. His activity on the ball shifted momentum when he was in the game. His foot speed and willingness to move without the ball got him open for threes that he capitalized on. Minnesota Swish was able to play fast and free when Glover was out on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2405197' first='Tyler' last='Kowal']|WI 26ers

Kowal proved to be a three level scorer and a versatile piece for the [program_tooltip program_id='2110787' first='Wisconsin' last='26ers']. He played with great rhythm when creating his own shot. When off of the ball he was able to make timely cuts to the basket for easy points. His in between game was on display as well as he played off two feet, finding the glass or a teammate more times than not.
