Here’s the best from Sunday:
Great situation for Henderson
Tennessee Tigers 17U point guard Rodney Henderson III had a solid weekend for the program. In a close defeat to Team Thad 17U EYCL, Henderson had 20 points and five assists. The 6-foot-1 lefty did a great job of attacking the rim, pushing the basketball in transition and making the extra pass. Henderson plays with high energy on both ends of the floor. The effort is always there. Henderson is a floor general that’s willing to make the right basketball play.
Great plug-in
Small forward Kamden Days is a great pickup for the Tennessee Tigers 17U team. At 6-5, Days brings length and athleticism. The Pope John Paul II product is a good rim runner, very active on the glass, and provides spacing thanks to his ability to make shots from the perimeter. Against Team Thad EYCL, Days had 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Brittman has something you can’t teach
Jarmon Brittman brings toughness to the Team Thad EYCL team. He led the team with 20 against the Tennessee Tigers . At 6-1, Brittman plays bigger than his size. He’s a willing participant on the boards. Brittman’s hunger for the basketball gives him an edge to possibly come away with a rebound. His physicality can wear guys on the opposing team out. Brittman doesn’t have an ounce of quit in him.
Golden opportunity for Brown
Shooting guard Cameron Brown Cameron Brown 6'6" | SF Whitehaven | 2025 State TN was solid all weekend for Team Thad . He had 18 points in a win over TNBC Elite and 13 against the Tennessee Tigers . Brown used his 6-5 frame to finish at the rim. He made shots from the perimeter. This is a great opportunity for Brown to show he’s a college wing. This is a good start for the Whitehaven High product. Brown will need to keep this up.
Doing the small things
Big man Josiah Hubbard didn’t fill up the stat sheet against Team Thad , but he did other things to affect the game. He recorded four blocks and five rebounds. Whether it was Gunnar Lewis Gunnar Lewis 5'11" | PG C.P.A. | 2025 State TN or Rodney Henderson Rodney Henderson 6'1" | PG Tyner Academy | 2025 State TN III calling for the screen, Hubbard set solid screens for both prospects, allowing enough room and time after the screen to either hit a shooter in the corner or find him sprinting towards the rim. Hubbard has good hands and good touch at the rim. He’s an unsigned senior that can play quality minutes for a program in year one as a true freshman.
