Team Warwick
14U-Warwick is a well-coached, well-disciplined team. Coached by Shane Warwick, so you know they’re game-ready from the tip. They’re a squad that is easy to get behind, because of their effort, energy, and dialed-in approach. They opened the season with a 4-0 showing in Omaha, followed by a 4-0 championship at the SD Spring Showcase.
Let’s get to know the roster some and check out their standout traits.
Strande is a competitor. He’s also one of the top 2028’s in South Dakota in terms of skill and performance. Plays extremely hard defensively, impacting the ball in some way, every time. Finishes athletically at the hoop and can shoot the three. Moves well without the ball and is an active cutter.
Highlights
Sully is incredibly long and may be the team’s best three-point shooter. If I had to put a current height on him, I’d say he’s 6’4-6’5”. A smooth and beautiful stroke from deep, where he can get hot and stay hot.
Highlights
Owen is a big that is built like a true big and looks like he’s an offensive or defensive lineman in football, as well. So, he’s got some size and strength. Is most effective and impactful at the hoop, offensively. A strong body that he uses to be tough to contain and keep off the boards. A constant motor that you like to see.
David Kutey
David Kutey
Kutey is a smooth-operating point guard. Controls pace and flow of a game at a very high level. Not a quick-twitch PG, but he’s highly skilled with his handle on the ball. He’s also an accurate and pure three-point shooter. Likes to step into his shot a little off of one or two dribbles.
Ryan Dieleman
Ryan Dieleman
Really like Dieleman, with his length and size for his age group. Not an explosive athlete, but he has a soft touch and can take care of the ball via pass on the perimeter. Has a methodical and effective offensive approach. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up being a top few tallest prospects in the state of South Dakota by the time he’s an upperclassmen.
Luke is locked-in on both ends in a major way. Gives full effort and doesn’t stop doing so. He’s got an athletic and strong frame from the wing, bringing some physicality.
Highlights
Noah Wald
Noah Wald
Noah is another gritty, hard-working guard that competes on both ends and plays fast. A mindset of playing great team defense, where he’ll play help defense, as well as fly around quickly in a low stance. Offensively, he makes hard, quick, and decisive cuts. Moves with a purpose.
