<p>Yesterday the Pennsylvania Sports Writers Association announced their selections for the 2023-24 all-state boys' basketball teams.</p>

<p>This evening we will review the prospects who were selected for the 5A all-state teams.</p>

<p><strong><u>1<sup>st</sup> Team 5A All-State</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p>

<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1865348' first='Jaen' last='Chatman'] </strong><strong>– 6'2″ / 2025 / East Stroudsburg South / NJ Panthers / Combo Guard:</strong> In 2023-24 Chatman produced points at every level, distributed and rebounded at a high level. He averaged 27 points per contest and was the Pocono Area POY. The SportsCenter worthy game of his junior season was his double-double of 30 points (3 3PM) and 11 rebounds against Allentown Central Catholic. Recently Chatman decided that he is transferring to Blair Academy (NJ) and reclassing into the 2026 graduate year.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1477735' first='Naeem' last='Colston'] </strong><strong>– 6'5” / 2024 / Samuel Fels / Mt. Pleasant Bulldogs / Small Forward:</strong> Colston (17 ppg.) is a speedy and athletic prospect with solid handles. That trifecta of assets means that Colston is a transition phenom. He frequently finishes in the open court with authority. Colston also possesses a polished mid-range game. With his length and solid frame, he can play bully ball at times too. After his senior season, was named a 1<sup>st</sup> Team All-PPL as well as the PPL Division MVP.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1187981' first='Elijah' last='Guillory'] </strong><strong>– 6'5” / 2024 / Moon Area / PK Flash / Shooting Guard:</strong> Guillory is a solidly built and athletic guard who can fill it up from anywhere on the court. This season he pumped in multiple 30-point games including a career high 39 points in a win against Thomas Jefferson. Guillroy is a highly accurate three-point shooter. He thrives on the fast break too. Additionally, he can score or distribute off the bounce. As a senior Guillory boasted a stat line of 21 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4 dimes per night. He pushed Moon Area to the WPIAL 5A title as well as the PIAA state semifinals. Guillory is committed to Youngstown State. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1281786' first='Ahmad' last='Nowell'] </strong><strong>– 6'1” / 2024 / Imhotep Charter / [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final'] EYBL / Combo Guard:</strong> This UConn commit, and our No. 2 ranked 2024 prospect is going to need a bigger trophy case. Back in March Nowell captured another Philly high school hoops triple crown – PPL, District 12, and PIAA state title winner. Then Nowell was named 1<sup>st</sup> Team All-PPL and 1<sup>st</sup> Team All-Philly Area as well as the Philly Area POY. Now he adds 1<sup>st</sup> Team All-State and the 5A state POY awards to his collection. Nowell can score at every level. He can serve as a primary ball handler or play off the ball. As a nice bonus, Nowell is a tenacious defender too.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1213553' first='Thomas' last='Sorber'] </strong><strong>– 6'8″ / 2024 / Archbishop Ryan / [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final'] EYBL / Power Forward:</strong> In 2023-24 this Georgetown commit registered a stat line of 18.5 points, 11 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game while shooting 62% from the field. Back in December he posted an insane triple-double of 41/19/10 triple double. Sorber was the Co-MVP of the PCL, led Ryan to the PCL championship game and the 5A state semifinals. In addition to dominating the interior, this season Sorber flashed a nice mid-range jumper.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1192641' first='Darren' last='Williams'] </strong><strong>– 6'3″ / 2024 / Archbishop Ryan / [program_tooltip program_id='2078682' first='K-Low' last='Elite'] / Shooting Guard:</strong> Williams is one of the top prospects in the nation (Ranked No. 10 overall on ESPN100) and is committed to FGCU. The Eagles are adding player who can hit shots from anywhere on the court and get out on the fast break. During his senior campaign Williams torched opponents for 16.8 points per game on the strength 35% shooting from behind the arc. In 2023-24 this sharpshooter posted a host of games where he sank 5+ triples. After his senior season Williams was a 1<sup>st</sup> Team All-PCL and 3<sup>rd</sup> Team All-Philly Area selection.</p>
