Ian Berry Ian Berry 5'11" | SG Little Elm | 2026 TX (Flash! Elite ’26) – Berry was a key figure on the Grind Region final winning team last season. He showed some improvements to his game during the LSSS. Berry was proficient from three looking very confident in taking the three. He also ran the break like a point guard and found ways to pass for a bucket or score himself. Berry played well on the weekend.
Kentrell Freeman Kentrell Freeman 6'6" | C Warren Easton | 2025 LA (On Geaux ’25) – On Geaux, from Louisiana, has a space eater in Kentrell Freeman Kentrell Freeman 6'6" | C Warren Easton | 2025 LA . He knows how to rebound the ball and keep it high from pesky guards. Freeman also showed he had the ability to block shots as well. He also has very good hands and is good at finishing over his left shoulder. This new face can spell trouble in the paint for opposing teams.
Jaydon Norbert Jaydon Norbert 6'3" | CG Southside | 2025 LA (LA Broncos ’25) – The Broncos have another contending team and Norbert will be a big part of this one. He is a player that can create off the dribble and is very good at attacking the rim. Jaydon is also wiry and athletic. Those traits make him active on both backboards and dangerous when not blocked out. He is a good slasher too and is always around the paint.
DeAndre Williams (In & Out Elite ’25) – In & Out Elite ’25 has an active, undersized four in DeAndre Williams. He appeared to be the emotional leader of the team. Williams also was able to score in several ways as well. He was very good in the paint and knows how to finish with either hand. His activity on the glass and toughness make him a player to watch all summer.
JuCurtis Johnson (Flash! Elite ’26) – Johnson is a new face on this talented 2026 Flash! Elite team. He is a strongly-built guard who is very good at attacking from the wing or finishing in transition. Johnson was also good at making the catch-and-shoot trey as well as rebounding. He is an addition to only makes this team better.
Jomello McDonald Jomello McDonald 6'3" | SF Red River | 2025 LA (Xpress Sports ‘ 25) – McDonald is a hybrid wing/forward who can do a little bit of everything well. He can handle the ball after the rebound, he can shoot the mid-range, and he can attack the basket from the baseline or wing. His offensive package is full. On defense, he can defend five positions. He may be one of the best all-around players in the Grind Region.
As the Grind Region continues, watch out for these players. They were some of the best players last weekend and will be good heading into the rest of the travel season.
