Talented prospects from the state of Tennessee were on hand.
Here are five observations from Sunday:
2025
Christian Brown, Brad Beal Elite 17U: The 6-foot-7 forward converted on a 3-point play in the early minutes of his team’s 77-36 win over All Arkansas Red. He recorded a couple of blocks in the first half and was active on the glass. Brown is a great rim runner. He finishes well around the rim. Brown should help Brad Beal Elite compete this spring and summer.
2026
Axton Perry, Hoop City Elite 16U: The 6-6 forward is excited about the spring and summer, in hopes of turning the corner on the offensive end. In an 86-72 win over the Alabama Celtics, Perry went coast-to-coast, finishing with a layup. On other possessions, he took shots from the perimeter and put the ball on the floor. Now, he’s not close to a finished product, and so aren’t the rest of the prospects in his class. But, beside his ability to rebound, block shots and alter shot attempts, Perry is working towards bringing his offensive game up to speed.
”Just work hard,” Perry’s first words to describe what it will take to improve before the start of his junior season. “In games, I want to showcase my talent. You know, I got talent. I think I will be on college coaches radar.”
Bryant Swing Jr., Hoop City Elite 16U: Swing was solid throughout the weekend, displaying his ability to make shots from the perimeter. The pick-and-roll action with Swing and freshman point guard Justin Frison was effective, resulting in a score from either player. With Frison running the offense this spring and summer, Swing won’t have to work hard for shot opportunities like he had to do for most of his sophomore season at Memphis East.
Trey Pearson, Brad Beal Elite 16U: Pearson is coming off a sophomore season leading Pope Prep to the semifinals round of the TSSAA Division II-AA Boys’ State Tournament. Now, his focus is on leading Brad Beal Elite to Peach Jam. In a 63-39 win over Team Griffin, Pearson got into the lane with ease, finishing with either a score or assist. On one possession in transition, the 6-2 point guard came down and drained a 3 from the top of the key. On the defensive end, Pearson was scratchy, while keeping his eyes, hands, hips, and feet aligned with the basketball.
2027
Elijah Lowe, MBAOSAG 15U: Lowe carries a selfless attitude. He’s not all about individual numbers. Lowe is all about team success. After getting a tang of postseason success – TSSAA Division I Class 3A Region 8 Championship and quarterfinals appearance in the Class 3A state tournament – Lowe is looking to use this spring and summer to improve on both ends of the floor since he realizes his role will increase at Fayette Ware following the departure of senior guards Jeremiah Hayes and Eric Jones.
”I’m excited. I’m ready to work,” said, Lowe, who averaged 5.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game as a freshman. “I’m just trying to put in as much work as possible, so next year we can run it back, and somehow, win state.”
