On Saturday March 23rd I attended the King of the City hosted by Hoopers On1y located at the Phhacility in Phoenix.

I viewed mainly 17U mixed in with some 16U or teams playing up in 16U. I ended up watching exactly 20 teams locally.

My All-Tournament Teams are based on the one game I viewed the team. These are NOT prospect rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1735379' first='David' last='Mans'] Pinnacle (Peak Platinum 16 NB)

A strong framed post player plays hard. He rebounds, sets sturdy picks and will alter or block shots. He scores from inside and out with hook shots with his dominant right hand and will even step out and shoot the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='1193884' first='Damien' last='Williams'] Chandler (AZ Gremlins 17)

A long and lean power forward who runs fluidly and can score in transition thru contact despite his frame. He is a rim runner who will crash the glass and brings energy to the court with a plus motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2123443' first='Sergio' last='Ramirez'] Canyon View ([program_tooltip program_id='2301191' first='Team' last='Rise N Grind'] 17)

A scoring guard is a lefty sniper. He can dribble drive to the basket and is great on the break with euro steps, step thrus and contact buckets with his frame. His pretty jumper makes him go.

[player_tooltip player_id='1953640' first='Zane' last='Connelly'] Dysart ([program_tooltip program_id='2301191' first='Team' last='Rise N Grind'] 17)

A highly skilled scoring lead guard is undersized but plays the game from the neck up. He rises up high on his mid-range jumpers and he can shoot the three. He seems almost automatic on the free throw line and made a few impressive passes thru traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386977' first='Kyle' last='Speed'] Gilbert (Hoop Code 14 National) (Pictured)

A tougher wing eighth grader is a top-notch rebounder. He will blocks shot with his unusually long arms and plays bigger then his size suggests. He plays with a big motor and is hyper competitive. He takes a few strides to get to the basket and he may end up being a defensive stopper for Coach Caserio.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386979' first='Elijah' last='Padgett'] Sahuaro (Tucson Unity 16)

A versatile point forward can get downhill in traffic. The lefty is a good passer and very active on defense with rebounds and collecting steals. He will spray the ball around with good court vision. He can jump stop and get to the basket or spin off of his defender. He scores on put backs with a quick second jump and is a capable three point shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1776603' first='Diego' last='Gonzales'] Hamilton (AZ Gremlins 16)

A combo guard handles a lot of the lead role and can play off the ball. He is tough getting downhill scoring layups in traffic and will rebound. He is good in the passing lanes and thinks the game like you should. He makes smart reads and plays unselfishly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1768200' first='Alex' last='Brown'] Hamilton (AZ Gremlins 16)

A combo guard is another who can play with or without the ball to be successful. He has a scoring attitude with mid-range pull-ups with high elevation. He impressed me on defensive with blocking shots and he rebounds well for his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='2147278' first='Sam' last='O'Dowd'] Rincon (APEX Nxt SB 17)

A sharp shooting scoring guard has a good frame with longer arms. He is catch and shoot three point shooter as he can pour in shots one by one. He squares up quickly and gets the ball out of his hands. He plays fundamentally sound defense and you rarely see him force the issue.
