Blake Neal Blake Neal 6’6″ | PF St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes | 2024 State VA finished his fantastic high school career with another excellent season for St. Stephens St. Agnes. Blake is a great athlete and a versatile defender. He always plays hard and can shoot the three well. Blake is an all-around great player, and he showed that again this year. He averaged 14 points a game and was an all-IAC selection.

This year, Nijel Howard Nijel Howard 6’6″ | PF Fairfax Christian | 2024 State VA was the leading scorer for a talented and well-balanced Fairfax Christian squad. Nijel is an elite shooter with great size and excels at spotting up. Nijel is a great athlete and can score from the post or the mid-range. He has a lot of potential as a defender, as well. Nijel was player of the year, first-team all-state, and an all-met honorable mention. He is a player talented enough for a starting spot, but because of the abundance of wing talent, I have him in my honorable mentions.

Another Fairfax Christian Cardinal who had a great year was Elijah Adegbenro Elijah Adegbenro 6’4″ | PF Fairfax Christian | 2024 State VA . I mentioned how well-balanced Fairfax Christian was, and Elijah was right behind Nijel Howard Nijel Howard 6’6″ | PF Fairfax Christian | 2024 State VA in scoring. He averaged 11.8 PPG and 6 RPG. Elijah is an outstanding defender all over the court, especially around the rim. He is also athletic and a great rebounder. Elijah was terrific on both ends of the court this year.
Quin Gorman Quin Gorman 6’8″ | PF Flint Hill | 2024 State VA caught my eye early in the year with his size and shooting ability. Quin is what you want out of a modern-day 4. He moves well and is a plus defender. He rebounds at a good rate with his 6’8″ frame as well. He was first-team all-mac.

Mekai Johnson Mekai Johnson 6’4″ | SG Bishop Ireton | 2024 State VA was one of the more all-around players I saw this year. He is a good shooter and does well getting to the rim. He defends and has excellent size and athleticism, which makes him a great defender. He did everything well and was solid all year.
This year, Garrett Sundra Garrett Sundra 6’11” | C Paul VI | 2024 State #148 Nation VA didn’t put up big stats because of PVI’s talent. But he still was essential and one of the best prospects in the state. Garrett is what you look for when you talk about a modern-day big. He’s almost 7 feet tall and is an outstanding catch-and-shoot shooter. He is switchable and does well against smaller players. Garrett is a high-level role player and is someone I had to add despite not having the eye-popping stats.
Matthew Shelton Matthew Shelton 6’5″ | PF Evergreen Christian | 2024 State VA was one of the area’s leading scorers. With his mix of size, speed, and skill, he was one of the toughest players to guard. He is a next-level athlete and was terrific at attacking the paint. He is a good defender, and when he was out in space, he was unstoppable all year. He averaged 21.2 PPG and 6.4 RPG.
