Usually, each camp will consist of many drills that help build up basic skills and fundamentals, then the boys will scrimmage for the last hour and a half. Let’s take a look at some athletes who impressed last week on April 17th.

Jordan was by far and away one of the most impressive prospects at the open runs last week on Wednesday. He showcases length and athleticism while scoring in a variety of ways on offense and rises up for key blocks and rebounds on the defensive side. One of the bigger unsigned senior guards left in Houston, Jordan would be steal for any coach that is looking for a key hustle player, big guard, or excellent scorer who has the IQ to be successful at the collegiate level.

Allen was the senior guard that I would state was the most complete playmaker at the All-N-One camp. If the statement, “he has eyes in the back of his head” could be described as a player, it would apply to Lafayette. He always has his head up when he dribbles up the floor, constantly scanning to find loopholes in the defense and he makes extra passes to create opportunities for teammates to score the rock. He could be one of the best remaining steals in Houston when it comes to playmaking 2024 guards.
Coming into the open runs last week, I had been told a lot about Nathan’s game but never had the opportunity to watch him in person yet. This was my first chance getting to watch him on the court live and he rose immediately above most of the competition. He runs the floor with great patience and pace, as well as shooting an efficient clip from anywhere on the court. Nguyen is adept at creating space from his defender to get off a shot, as well as drawing the rest of the defense towards him so his teammates will be left wide open for jumpers. I’m looking for him to have a big summer playing with the UA Unbreakable squad.
Jacob has been one of the most impressive guards in the Houston 2025 class that I have been keeping my eye on all season and he has progressively gotten better each time I have watched. His dribble penetration to the rim is one of his stronger key offensive components and he consistently draws fouls while calmly knocking down free throws from the foul stripe. May’s court vision is consistent as well to where he always knows where his teammates are on the court and can make no-look passes seem easy. Jacob’s shooting has also greatly improved to where he can burn the opposition with many long range shots if left open. He recently obtained an offer before last week’s All-N-One camp. Look for his stock to continue to rise!
Bryce Archie
Bryce Archie
Bryce was one of the most consistent players at the open runs that did not have to score to impact the game. He got several key defensive stops and showed off his athleticism at the basket on both ends. He had several assists in transition that led to his team getting easy buckets and coming away with the lead in key moments. Archie is good at drawing contact when he drives inside as well and can usually finish through hard fouls.
