ACBL: 6th Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday March 30th I attended the&nbsp;<strong>ACBL</strong>&nbsp;hosted by Kenny Mullins located at the Glendale Prep.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I viewed 17U and 16U teams. I ended up watching exactly 11 teams of five 16U and six 17U.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here are some All-League performances for the league.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These are based on the ONE game I viewed the team. The southpaw is a quick twitchy athlete. He will grab out of area rebounds and alter or block shots. He will box players out and score around the rim.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1482170' first='Aidan' last='Grant'] ALA Gilbert North (AZ Gremlins 16)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard who plays on or off the ball. He is a heady player who is good passer and scorer. He can hesitate and burst by and score from the perimeter. He is a very important piece off the bench for them.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1763220' first='Devin' last='Sanders'] Canyon View (AZ Venom 16)&nbsp;(Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An undersized point guard is a fast defender with quick hands and feet. He can hit the catch three and change his speeds well. He can burst into the paint and throw a pass and uses the pick and roll game to his advantage.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2318330' first='Jarod' last='Hemsley'] Canyon View (AZ Venom 16)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long and lean power forward is an efficient inside scorer with good hands and feet. He runs the court, tries gaining position to score in the painted area and the forward shows upside.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1217317' first='JT' last='Thomas'] Mountain Pointe (AZ Grind 17)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A very physical bigger guard is the teams glue guy off the bench. He comes in to rebound on both ends of the court, he defends multiple positons with his long arms, quicker feet and aggressive approach and will score inside.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2386955' first='Ajay' last='Blakes'] Heritage Academy Maricopa (AZ Venom 17)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A barrel chested scoring combo guard takes care of the ball and uses his size and length to defend a couple positions. He can score on threes off the catch with a quick release and likes the mid-range pull-up. He can rebound inside with his girth and length and block shots. He score with ball fakes into a hook shot and will shoot the three off the catch.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
